Sean was one of the few bright spots as the White Sox got off to a disappointing start in 2001. He went 3-0, with two
saves and a 2.31 ERA, in 22 relief appearances before moving into the rotation at the beginning of July. Sean spent the
majority of 2000 in the bullpen as he went 4-1, with a 5.48 ERA, in 50 games (five starts). He limited opponents to a
.218 average as a starter, compared to .314 as a reliever. Sean also had five pickoffs, which tied him for third in the
American League. He was on the White Sox playoff roster, but did not pitch in the AL Division Series vs. the Seattle
Mariners.
