I have to purchase 3 tvs for my business and I debating whether it is worth buying plasma or a LCD. It is for a bar area and I only have about 28inches from the ceiling in which I hang them before someone will hit them with their head. I have heard some many varying opinions on this matter. Most people I have talked to have said to purchase a LCD rather than plasma. I am not sure where to purchase them and what a good price is for them. Do any of you recommend a place or internet site that would give me good pricing. Any help would be appreciated. :)

If you buy a plasma trust me went through 2 before i got it down and through my head, don't let them run all the time or they will start to get a little dot in the corner and it is green or blue then it will expand to a rainbow in the corner like the colors of a prism, you need to let them cool down , i would leave my own 24/7 hooked up to big home theater and burnt them out of course was covered and replaced for free but took my tech 2 times to figure out why, and it was due to all that runs through it the way it is hooked up and the company that built our set up and room speakers are in ceiling and just like being in a movie theater or sports book but the do 90% of the work out here for casinos and big home installs and after the 2nd he ask if I ever turned it off and said not really sometimes i would but most of the time would just go into bedroom and let it run. Now have never had a problem since I started to turn it off and let it have a break.

Also make sure if you are having it hooked up have a pro do it, not some tech from best buy, c.city sears, these guys have no clue to what they are doing , well they have a gen clue but they are the same person who would be hooking up a washer or fridge also if you bought from them, My company did it all and got a much better price on it then I could and they service anything I need since lot was put into it from my pocket the whole system and set up, Like I said they built it all from scratch even the closed wall unit where everything runs from for the whole system, the built it right into the wall and speakers 5 about the size of a ac vent and wires all run through the cealing can't see 1 wire.

Since it is for a club might want to think about the price the other is a very good picture and price is better off, just have a pro do it, tell them what you want and give them a price to work with for everything and you can't go wrong that way.

Thanks guys. I am probably going to go the lcd route, a couple of people have said the life span is much longer on the lcd than plasma. Since it is not for my home, I just want it to last.

I was at a COSTCO last night and saw some lcds for 2,000 or less, but the name brand was a little sketchy...any opinions. does it really make that big of a difference. The ones I saw at CB Joes were 3500 but a better brand.

I bought a 27" MAXVENT LCD at Costco a month ago, the reason I went with COSTCO is there return policy. COSTCO will take it back if your not satisfied with no time limit. I bought a HP printer and took it back after 2 years and there was no problem, same with a canon digital camera, I took that back and got a newer version after six months. Go to www.costco.com and read there return policy, it's pretty amazing.

Costco return policy:

This item is covered by Costco's guarantee to refund your purchase price if you are not completely satisfied. Costco's guarantee applies, even though this item may not be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, because Costco is not an "authorized" dealer of the merchandise.

Notice it does not state a time limit........Just keep the receipt and box.
