Thanks for your response, Mr. Spock. Yes, the Cards hav had terrible karma , but it seems that they hit a good roll and suddenly fade again. I haven't played them much because of the emotion factor. Who knows how their heads are right now.
Regarding the Royals and the streak, I mostly agree with you. A couple of years ago I used to bet against the streak, being somewhat of a statistician (also played majority dogs). But after losing my arse for a while and reading a post from Madjack himself, probably a couple of years ago, where he talked about riding the streak, I jumped on the bandwagon. I usually play in favor of a streak till it ends. But you have got to see how long that can go and who is on that streak. Royals ain't exactly the Lakers and a 9 game streak is usually my limit on a BB team. Add to that a double header and it's worth a shot.
On that note, I remember a couple of years ago, the Giants had a 10 game winning streak, were at home v. the Padres. I think Reuter was pitching and was a -200 + fav. I bet the house on the Pads, even though on paper they had no chance. Gaints were up all game, by 4 or 5, bout in the 8th the Pads started to whack it and ended up winning by 2 or 3. Sometimes statistics don;t lie. But, yes, the streak is your friend.
Speaking of good advice, RAYMOND also said once (probably more than once) that many times the hardest wager is the winning one (or something like that). Meaning when you see a tough bet vs. an easy bet (Yanks on a 10 game winning streak with Clemens on the mound), many times the "tough" bet is the way to go. It goes much into psychology of the line also, but it is something that has stayed with me and is especially helpful come football season.
Thanks for your comments, btw.
