The Sonics finally found out why Jerome James has been bothered by pain in his right foot. He was diagnosed yesterday with a stress fracture in the fourth metatarsal and will miss 5-6 weeks of action, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

A sore right foot kept Peja Stojakovic out of Friday's game, according to the Sacramento Bee. He missed some preseason action with plantar fasciitis.

Devean George had an MRI yesterday that revealed tendinitis in his sore right foot, according to the LA Times. He is considered day-to-day but likely won't play on Sunday.

The Mavs received a medical exception from the NBA Friday and used it sign Mark Strickland to a contract, according to the Dallas Morning News. Darius Miles didn't practice yesterday, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Rather, he spent time in the trainer's room rehabbing his knee. Cavs coach John Lucas said Miles would be in the mix for today's game.

Matt Harpring replaced Andrei Kirilenko in Utah's starting lineup Friday and didn't fair as well as he has coming off the bench. Harpring, who was averaging over 15 ppg, scored only eight on Friday.

Andrei Kirilenko was a late scratch on Friday because of a strained back, according to the AP. His status for Saturday's game is uncertain

Chris Whitney was unable to play through his sprained ankle Friday night. It was the second game had missed due to the injury
