Akron
I'm really liking Akron here. Looking at their results, ere's how they've done against the spread:

Game 1:Failed to cover by 15
Game2: "" "" "" "" 9
Game 3 """ """" """" 7
Game 4 Covered the spread by 4

I think they have a shot at a SU win this weekend. Defense is allowing 61% completions this year. Akron's strength is its passing game. The Zips were down 35-29 with 7 minutes left in their 48-29 loss against UVA last week. They are in dire need of a win, and this series has seen the home team cover 8 of the last nine. Plus, getting a premium for playing such an ugly team.

Wake

ACCs best rushing O vs. worst rushing D.Big time coaching mismatch. Grobe also is a UVA alum who probably likes to show he should have gotten the UVA job -- he did just that last year, his first at Wake, when he ended a string of 17 straight SU losses to UVA.

UVA has gotten a lot of recruits and will be good in a few years, but this season they just are not very good despite the one good win over S.Carolina.

Wake is the nations best TO ratio team and the QB has not thrown a pick yet this season. Meanwhile, UVA is one of the nations youngest squads, and will be on the road.

Oregon St

OSU is 10-2 ATSafter 2 straight SU wins, 10-1 ATS vs. teams with winning records.

Last year USC defeated Oregon State 16-13 in overtime in what is easily one of the most gut-wrenching losses in the history of Oregon State football. It was a bitter pill for the Beavers to swallow for several reasons. Oregon State totally dominated the game from a statistically standpoint and
continually shot itself in the foot on missed scoring opportunities. In addition, the defeat ended up costing the Beavers a third straight winning season and trip to a bowl game. Oregon State held a 384-204 edge in total offense. The Beavers held the Trojans to a mere 33 yards on the ground, which is the third lowest rushing total allowed an opponent in OSU history. In the
fourth quarter alone, USC generated zero yards in total offense and had a minus 1-yard rushing.

UTAH

13-2 ATS prior to bye week. Air force off big win. PLAY ON any college football home team in a conference game following four consecutive non conference games...we would own a lofty 81-53-3 ATS winning record since 1980. Add a dash of revenge into the mix and our avenging host improves to 45-26-1 ATS.

Even better yet, since 1990, these revenging hosters are on a 21-4-1 ATS winning roll!
