Playoff Picture

With only 4 weeks left in the regular season, the playoff picture is quite clear in the NFC, but muddled in the AFC.

GB has already clinched a playoff berth by winning the very weak NFC North. At 9-3 they are 6 games ahead of the field.

TB & Philly also lead their divisions at 9-3 while SFs 8-4 mark is good enough to head the NFC West.

Both Wild Card teams would be NFL South members Atl & NOR.
The Aints (8-4) are 2 games better than the Giants, the only other NFC team with a non-losing record.

The AFC has 13 of 16 teams at 6-6 or better.
Indy & Pitt have clear division leads while Mia & NWE are tied atop the AFC East.
The JETS would have made it a 3-way logjam IF they had beat Oak.

OAK paces the AFC West.
The AFC does not have a single team with fewer than 4 losses.

Weather/Totals

As we know bad weather becomes a factor, but don't instinctively play the UNDER. High wind, rain, ice & snow often allows for big scoring plays which produce points and take little time off the clock.
Take LWs Miami/Buffalo game. There were 59 total points scored in snowy conditions. The Over/Under dropped 5 points from where it opened at many books in Vegas.

Bills at Patriots

--When Buffalo recorded a 38-21 victory last week, it snapped the club?s string of five straight ?under? games.

--The Bills are 4-1 ATS on the road, with one game landing directly on the closing number.

--The ?under? is 6-3 in Buffalo?s December road games.

--These two squads met on Nov. 3, with New England registering a 38-7 win as a three-point road underdog. The combined 45 points ducked ?under? the closing 47 ?-point total.

--While the Patriots are 3-2 SU at home, they are just 1-4 ATS.

--The ?under? is 8-1 in New England?s last nine games, including the last three in a row.

Bengals at Panthers

--The ?over? has cashed in Cincinnati?s last six outings, enabling the ?over? to improve to 9-3 overall.

--Though the Bengals are 1-5 SU on the road, they are 3-3 ATS.

--Cincinnati has surrendered 27 points or more in 10 of its first 12 games

--Carolina snapped a five-game SU losing skid with last week?s 13-6 victory at Cleveland.

--The Panthers have failed to score more than 13 points in five of their last six efforts.

--The ?under? is 9-3 in Carolina?s first 12 outings, but the total has been split evenly in its first six home contests.

Browns at Jaguars

--Cleveland is a nifty 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS away from home.

--The Browns are 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS versus Jacksonville.

--Though the Jaguars are just 3-3 SU at home, they are 5-1 ATS.

--The ?over? is 5-1 in Jacksonville?s last six efforts, including the last three in a row. In addition, the ?over? is 6-1 in the club?s last seven December home games

Rams at Chiefs

--St. Louis has failed to cover the spread in nine of its first 12 games, including the last four in a row.

--The Rams are 1-5 both SU and ATS away from home, with the ?under? also going 1-5.

--St. Louis is 3-8 ATS on the road against AFC grass teams.

--Kansas City has scored 32 points or more in seven of its first 12 games. Not surprisingly, the ?over? is 8-4 during that span.

--The Chiefs have seen the ?over? go 6-2 when hosting current dome teams.

--The last time these clubs met in Kansas City (2000), the Chiefs recorded a 54-34 victory as a seven-point home underdog.

Texans at Steelers

--Houston has scored 10 points or less in five of its first 12 outings.

--Though the Texans are 1-5 SU on the road, they are a respectable 3-3 ATS.

--Pittsburgh has failed to cover in its last five efforts, lowering the club?s spread record to 3-8-1 overall and 1-4 at home.

--The ?over? has cashed in Pittsburgh?s last four outings.

--The Steelers are 8-3 ATS in December non-division home games.

Falcons at Bucs

--Atlanta, on a four-game ATS winning streak, is a perfect 6-0 ATS away from home. In addition, the club has covered nine of its first 12 overall efforts.

--The ?over? is 6-1 in the last seven meetings between Atlanta and Tampa Bay, with the lone ?under? occurring this season when the Bucs recorded a 20-6 victory as a 1 ?-point road underdog.

--Tampa Bay is now 4-0 both SU and ATS in the last four meetings against Atlanta. The club has held the Falcons to just 40 points in those four meetings.

--The Bucs are 5-1 both SU and ATS at Raymond James Stadium this season, with the ?under? going 4-2.

--Tampa Bay has limited the opposition to 10 points or less in seven of its first 12 contests.

Colts at Titans

--Indianapolis is in the midst of a four-game winning streak both SU and ATS. The club has not allowed more than 13 points in three of those four efforts.

--The Colts have seen the ?over? go 7-3-1 in December road games.

--These two squads met on Nov. 3, with Tennessee notching a 23-15 victory as a three-point road underdog. The combined 38 points dipped ?under? the closing 46 ?-point total.

--The Titans have seen their last seven games decided by nine points or less.

--Tennessee is 7-3 ATS in its last 10 December home games
