finished the regular season 313-220 +322.30 units

Really enjoyed this year with everyone here, I know that a lot of you had outstanding years- great job:thumb:

I am going to keep one thread going for each round of the playoffs.... A couple of thoughts....

pick your spots when laying the goal and a half-
lay off the big moneylines in the early games of each round-
look to play against a team off a 7 game series win against a team off of a 4,5,or 6 game series win in game 1 of the next series-
you will see a lot more overs early in each series, look for the unders to come in when the games mean more (i.e. when the series is at 2-2, 3-2, or 3-3.)

that being said this is what I am going with in game 1 's- FWIW I started to heat up at the end of the year playing totals so I hope it continues....

I am going to play all of these for 5 units....

Ott - 1 1/2 -110
Wash ML +120
Over Dall/Edm 4 1/2 -120
Over Colo/Minn 4 1/2 -120
Over Det/Ana 5 -120
Over Stl/Vanc 5 1/2 +110

One last thing..... We can really use all the help we can get- please post any useful information- trends, injuries, etc.

Good luck and let's have some fun:D

In the past I liked to play the under in playoff games, but I think you might be right here for the first few games. The officials had another meeting and are being told to call the obstruction penalty like at the start of the season. This should be more PP's and greater chance for goals.

I am not sure who had more penalties early in the season but would love to know. One other thing with chance of PP's being up make sure to look at each teams special teams.

Congrats on a good year and continued success in the Playoffs

there is only four Stanley Cup winning goalies in play-offs:

east
New Jersey's Martin Brodeur (two)
Dallas' Ed Belfour (now with Toronto, one)

west
Colorado's Patrick Roy (four)
St. Louis' Chris Osgood (one*) (*Some say the Wings won despite Osgood.)

( that's c&p from espn, didn't osgoog get another when backing up Vernon -97? )

About goalies, potential meltdowns are ( at least to me ) Osgood and Joseph. If Joseph starts failing his duties Det has Manny backing up and i think he does the job at least as well as Curtis.

If Osgood comes out not'sogood StL is in deep sh!t.

Turco has his chance of the life time to come a top goalie.

Expecting solid performances from Brodeur and well, that's about
it, i mean Roy could be magical but if he feels that team is not going to win the Cup he looses his interest, Belfour hmmmm no.

series notes
COL-MIN
Minnesotas both goalies are in top 10 GAA,
3 D. Roloson, MIN g50 w23 l16 t8 gaa2.00
9 M. Fernandez, MIN g35 w19 l13 t2 gaa2.24

6 Patrick Roy, COL g63 w35 l15 t13 gaa2.18

wouldn count that Col is obvious winner in this series, we must
not forget that MINs coach is one of the three Cup winning coaches in these play-offs, Jack Lemaire whos Devils won RedWings -95.

other two are Mark Crawford VAN and Kevin Hitchcock PHI.
None of these three are coaching same team that won.

I think we will see some big upsets during these play-offs
my favourite upsets in order
NYI to beat OTT
MIN to beat COL ( oh yes )

sure favourites to go through
DAL
TB
and
PHI

Good luck to all and
Let's play hockey!

Chenks, looks like we're gonna be on a lot of the same plays so far. Makes me feel better already:D. Good luck in the playoff, bud:).

Tell me something, why are the Avs +600 to win the cup when the Sens are +700?? Am I missing something?? Anyways, I put a unit on the Sens to win the whole damn thing. +700 is a steal, IMHO.

last play for the game 1's-

St Louis +150 400/600

my strategy for Tor/Phil, Stl/Van, and TB/WASH is to play on Tor, Wash, and Stl in game 1- if any or all lose game 1- I will play them in game 2- If they win game 1 I will be playing the opposite team in game 2-

I think all three of these series will go 6 or 7 games-

Also going to monitor the totals to see if what I was doing towards the end of the season works for the playoffs- If it does not, I will only be playing sides......

good luck
