Updated NFL playoff scenarios
Unofficial look at who's in and who's out. The NFL will release its Week 17 playoff scenarios later in the week.
AFC East
Miami can clinch the division with a win or tie at New England in Week 17.
Miami can clinch a playoff spot with help from Week 17 losses by Indianapolis, Denver, Kansas City, New England, the New York Jets and/or San Diego (depending on tie-breakers).
New England can clinch the division with a win vs. Miami in Week 17 and a New York Jets loss.
New York can clinch the division with a win vs. Green Bay in Week 17 and a New England win over Miami.
Depending on tie-breakers, there may be scenarios where New England or New York can clinch a playoff spot without winning the division.
AFC North
Pittsburgh can clinch the division with a win or tie at Tampa Bay, a win or tie vs. Baltimore in Week 17 or a Cleveland loss vs. Atlanta.
Pittsburgh can clinch a playoff spot with Week 17 losses by Denver, Kansas City, New England, the New York Jets and San Diego.
Cleveland can clinch the division with a win vs. Atlanta in Week 17 and Pittsburgh losses to Tampa Bay and Baltimore.
Cleveland can clinch a playoff spot with a win vs. Atlanta in Week 17 and help from losses by Denver, Kansas City, New England, the New York Jets and/or San Diego (depending on tie-breakers).
AFC South
Tennessee has clinched the division title.
Indianapolis can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Jacksonville in Week 17 or help from losses by Cleveland, Denver, Kansas City, New England, the New York Jets and/or San Diego (depending on tie-breakers).
AFC West
Oakland has clinched the division title.
Denver, Kansas City and San Diego are still mathematically in contention for a playoff spot.
NFC East
Philadelphia has clinched the division title.
Philadelphia can clinch a first-round bye with a Tampa Bay loss vs. Pittsburgh.
New York Giants can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Philadelphia in Week 17 or a New Orleans loss to Carolina.
NFC North
Green Bay has clinched the division title.
NFC South
Tampa Bay has clinched the division title.
Atlanta can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Cleveland in Week 17 or a loss by either New Orleans or the New York Giants.
New Orleans can clinch a playoff spot with a win over Carolina in Week 17 and a loss by either Atlanta or the New York Giants.
NFC West
San Francisco has clinched the division title and will be the fourth seed.
