this is this weeks version of the home dog theory by columnist pete fiutak......

There's no nobility in poverty anymore ? In the weekly tracking of my theory that, after the early part of the year, the double-digit home underdog almost always covers going 25-8 ATS over the last month. Last week, the road faves went 5-8 with the notable gaffes by Miami, Florida State, Texas A&M and Minnesota. That brings the total up to 33-11. So as a continued public service, here are this weeks offerings ...
- Louisville -13.5 at Memphis
- Georgia -24 at Kentucky
- Virginia Tech -10.5 at North Carolina (talk about your no respect line)
- Florida -12.5 at Vanderbilt
- Tulsa -12 at SMU
- Oklahoma -11.5 at Texas A&M
- USC -17.5 at Oregon State
- Navy -12.5 at Tulane

good luck.

2*uab-17(126)......bought this monday

i read that uab is very embarrassed by their meltdown vs. tulane. so i expect them to play some inspired football & bounce back with a convincing win tonight.

i also read that the so. fla. coach has been disappointed with his teams performance thus far this year.the coach said that he will play the players who compete that hardest.so between injuries & change we may see many freshmen play tonight.

so. fla. has the worst pass defense in conference usa....they allow a 56% completion rate & 7.8 yppp.(which is very poor) & allow close to 40 points per game on the road, & have allowed >40 points in 3 of it's last 4 games.so. fla. is 1-2 ats on the road where they are getting outscored by an average score of 40-19 on the road.

uab's qb averages an excellent 9.8 yppp & has an 18/4 td/int. ratio.they are getting over 500 yards per game & are averaging 44 ppg. at home. the average score of uab home games is 44-22. uab is 3-0 su/ats at home this year.

uab is fighting for a bowl bid & should be very motivated to erase the memory of that tulane meltdown & roll tonight, rain or no rain.

good luck.

thanks guys.

didn't start off the week on the right note.but looking to change that tonight.........

10*akron+10.....i zeroed in on this sunday night.

this game could decide the mac east championship & imo this is a very live dog who can win this game out right.

marshall is 0-2 ats this year as a road favorite & is 2-7 ats in that roll since 2002.

their offense is next to last in total offense in the mac this year & produced only 279 total yards at ohio & 239 total yards at kent st. in 2 conference road trips so far this year. against a very poor c. fla. defense that gives up an average of 6.6 yppl, marshall gained only 4.4 yppl.

akron has a balanced attack, with frye at qb ( thrown 7 tds & no ints in last 4 games), & biggs running the ball (510 rushing yards in last 3 games) that should be able to put up enough points to be competitive in this game.

the home team is 5-0-1 ats in this series since 1997.

2*ullaf.+3.........

north texas has allowed 177 points in 4 road games this year & have been outgained 501 yards to 301 yards on the road.

lafayette has scored at least 20 points in every division 1a game this year.

good luck.
