I almost never would back a team that just swept the yankees but feel the price is right w/ Glavine pitching. He has been dominant this year and very effective in his career vs the Phils. Abbott is pretty bad and Hidalgo has been on fire since coming over from Houston. Reyes will play today and Cameron may also. Mets may be in an obvious let down spot but I think the sweep will give them confidence and an added boost to start the Philly series

Both plays are pretty much in hopes that Day gets hit hard today. I have been backing him in many of his starts this year. But coming off 124 pitches on 6/30 and 119 pitches on 6/25 I really believe he will struggle tonite. He has not shown that he can come back from b2b high pitch counts on 4 days rest and still be effective. When he is rested I think he has been one of the top guys in the NL, just gets no run support. Not too sure what to expect from Byrd after he had the great start off the DL then not so good. But think he will do enough and the Atlanta pen has been very sharp of late. Total was 8 earlier and I was going to wait for ump info before taking the over but at 7.5 and -110 for the over I really like it.
2 road fav's is not my style but think both are solid. Strong lean to PIT +150 w/ Wells' history vs FL (not to mention the way they are playing overall in their last 2 series) and Beckett's limited innings in the past 3 weeks. But no play for now. Listed pitchers as always..gl to all today!
