Many of you cappers here have been posting at the Forum much longer than I, so I hope you don't mind me coming in and putting up a few plays. On more than a few occassions, I have coattailed others at this page and done well, I might add.

With NFL season coming to a close, I hope to be here more often and learn more about wha'ts going on.

Since MadJack is in LV, I want to make certain these plays get posted. I have been playing several angles, which have been cashing at a good percentage. I do NOT profess to know as much about baskets as most of you, but I have done mor than my share of data mining. Therefore, I hope some of this info wil b helpful.

I shall post here in the days ahead so make certain that the record is in a public forum. Thanks for reading,

YESTERDAY?S RESULS: 3-1

VMI +7.5 vs. DAVIDSON -- WON

WESTERN CAROLINA +7.5 vs. APPALACHIAN STATE -- WON

VIRGINIA TECH +3.5 vs. VIRGINIA -- WON

PROVIDENCE +3 vs. NOTRE DAME ? LOST

TODAY?S PLAYS:

Arkansas +3.5 vs. LSU
Tigers have won 8 of last 10 SU, but among those games only two were played on away court. Tigers have also played a slew of weak teams on thi schedule. Arkansas has played horribly in recent games and is in turmoil according to reports, but now plays third straight at home and has faced a much tougher SEC schedule thus far. Razorbacks should show up this time and keep it close.

Northern Iowa +7.5 vs. Southern Illinois
N. Iowa has won 3 of 4 at home, with only loss to superior Iowa State. Looks very much like a game So. Illinois might take lightly.

North Carolina State +6.5 vs. Duke
Could be a hangover effect for Blue Devils versus a cross-state rival, after Duke?s embarrassing loss at Maryland last weekend. I?m not much impressed by what I've seen from NC State, but I think they play well enough to cover in this game.

Colorado +9 vs. Kansas
It?s hard to make a case for betting against Kansas, which is destroying every team they face. But here?s a much tougher spot against a conference rival, 7-3 SU in last 10 games, getting a very generous number of points. This is either the contrarian play of the week, or the sucker play of the week -- not sure which. I'll take a shot.

Nolan,

I really like your selections....

In the SEC and Big ten this year, home dogs are 15-8 65% (9 are outright winners...)

Plan on researching the other conferences when I get time...
Think the high pct of winners is the result of road teams not shooting as well (weird environment). The officiating also has something to do with the outcome.... Home teams get to the line and get more calls period...

I would also like to know how the wins and losses for the road teams prior games impact the results... I have a hunch that Duke after a loss is more likely to cover than Maryland who is coming off of a win....

Can appreciate your write up but just played Kansas -7- . A nine point spread would be nice but your right, it could be a trap.

I hope I didn't just fall into it....:scared

Thanks for the replies, my friends. I owe a lot to many of you because I've coattailed and made some nice stew following some of the cappers here. Hellah, in particular, should be enshrined for his work in that conference. As for tonights plays, the lines have moved on some of the games. I'm torn as to how to record the games since I need to get the report in by the previous night. The numbers often move the following morning. I'll try to get this worked out.

Thanks again and keep up the excellent work. We'll get 'em in March Madness.

Nice day Nolan, 3-1. But damn, it should've been 4-0. Who'd have thought you'd lose an OT game with an 8-pt dog?? Hopefully that will even out for you over the long run.

I thought we were going 4-0 as I counted that as a win. I had a big money player on that game as well, who I touted ont he game. I went over and told him we were tied with a minute left and he said -- "worst thing is for this game to go into OT."

Well, look what happened. Really a heartbreaker. I'll stil take the night, but it could have been better.

Til tomorrow night,
