ok i have a 4 team parlay:

Colts -3
Vikings -11
Bills +3.5
Pats +3
Risk $100 to win $987

so i hedged the last game with:

Saints -3
Risk $403 to win $483

if the pats win I get $1,087 into my account
if the Saints win I get $883 into my account

should I hedge a little more to maximize profit?

I dont always necessarily try to maximize getting each side 50/50. I did pick the original parlay the way I did because I believe it will hit. So, usually I will hedge with a bet that will get me 2x my original wager, so on yours I would play to win 300. (300 - original bet of 100 = 2x payoff)...

So, you win 200 cash if your parlay loses, and 787 when your original pick covers....

Now on this particular game, I like N.O. personally. I know the line was 1.5 earlier in the week at my book, and looking at it today, I STILL HAVE A LINE OF 1.5!!!! You might want to shop around and have a chance of WINNING BOTH!!!! Dont take the -3 when you can take it at -1.5, or better yet buy 1/2 pt or a point and who knows, NO may win by 1 or 2 and win both!!!!!!!

{SHOPPING FOR LINES IS AS IMPORTANT AS HEDGING IMO FOR GAMBLERS WHO WANT TO DO THIS LONG TERM OR FOR A LIVING. THIS IS A MUST!!! AND WHAT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU HERE..

Also, nice picking yesterday to get to this point! I wish you best of luck.

Not going to get anymore solid advise than what you got right here......I would do just like Bound says....just double your original bet for your hedge, just to make sure that you come out with something in your pocket. Leave the rest on a very solid New Orleans bet. You liked the game when you made the play......now you have a shot for a nice cash based on one game for zero risk. I'll sign up for that anyday. Good Luck to you. :toast:

I second that...

I second that...

Keep the original play as the higher winning amount, and as mentioned, shop around for a better line, or play the SAINTS on the M/L. Don't lay the same pts as this keeps you from winning both.

Another angle I use since next week's lines are out, is maybe play a TEASER with the SAINTS to win 300, going 6.5 or 7 pts can get you the SAINTS +4.5 or +5, and now you have a whole 7 points to middle. If you tease it to the next available game, that would be THUR and the JETS/BILLS game. Taking the SAINTS to the JETS, since the line is moving up on them, would give you +4 on them.

Tonights game could end with you hitting the parlay on PATS, adding that money to your account, and you having the JETS +4 worth another $600 going on THUR. You could then play BILLS money line, or do yet another TEASER with BILLS to your favorite play on SUN. Doing the continuing teaser play will eventually give you a huge middle opportunity at a Halftime Play....

It's complicated, but money making. Good luck! :SIB
