When betting on OVER/UNDER win totals in the NFL (or any sport for that matter) do ties count as half wins?

Meaning if the Packers win total is 5 and they had 12 ties (Obviously impossible but easier to explain) would the 12 ties equal 6 wins?

Or if the Packers total was 5 wins and they won 5 games and tied one game would that be OVER?

Thank you,

Scott

That is what I thought. Where can I find this written somewhere? The knucklehead that I am betting with said I need to prove it. Is there some Nevada Sportsbook rules somewhere where it states that 2 ties do not equal a win for over/under win totals bets.

Thank you for your help everyone.

On the course!
Punch this donkey in the fun bag, and take his wallet! He seems far too stupid to have ANY money, and you would be doing him a favor!

How the fukc can ANYONE think two ties equal a win?

Tell this moron there are three columns:

Win/Loss/Tie

The guy sounds like a welcher who doesn't plan on paying your bet, no matter what you find out.

His argument is referring to teams divisional records for instance. He is saying that a team with 5 wins 0 loses and a tie is higher in the standings than a team with 5 wins and one loss.

I keep telling him that the bet is not winning percentage but over under for total season wins.

He finally said that he will go with whatever the "vegas" rules are. That's why I'm looking for written proof.

I'm still looking and that is why he says I'm making it up because I cant find it written somewhere.

Unbelievable.

Hello all, just stumbled on this board and found this to be an interesting thread as I just heard a similar debate.

I'd have to go against PocketAces on this one.
In the real world It's actually standard for any sport to count a tie as a half win and a half loss that doesn't use a pnt system. Documentation is quite easy to find on it for the NFL or any other sport that uses W-L-T.

In the Gambling world you'll it's quite hard to find anything on a "tie". All I could come up with was that ties in baseball are a push and ties will change the value of teasers. Neither really related but ties are recognized with some value.

I think PocketAces needs to come up with the documentation as his buddy probably already has his.

So........You just stumbled on to the board, and you dig up a post that is a week old, and three pages back? I'm certainly no detective, but I would guess you might be the clown who has the "bet" with him.

The fact remains: What applies to a league as far as settling winners, has no bearing on wagering.

The O/U on these totals is based on TOTAL WINS, nothing else. That is, in fact, what the wager is, correct?

That is why there needs to be no further definition of the "rule".

It's easy to talk tough, but where is the proof?

Just saying it means nothing, I've search for proof, can't come up with a thing. If this was such a hard coded rule at least 1 sports book would have it listed somewhere.

I'll believe it when I see it.
