Nova Report
The Cats are in Milwaukee to face the Marquette Golden Eagles at 1:00 pm Eastern. The line is -7.5/162.
Marquette is 13-7, 4-4 in the Big East, and squarely on the bubble. Last year, they were in the same position and in need of a marquis win when they beat Nova 74-72 to get their ticket punched. After taking the Cats to the brink earlier this year, the Golden Eagles are confident they can repeat last year?s result.
Why? Markus Howard torched Nova with 37 points and his running mate, Andrew Rowsey looked like Steph Curry from 3 point land. Nonetheless, due to their ineptness on defense, those two plus Sam Hauser will need to bring their ?A? games to win today.
On the Wildcat side, nothing but bad news. Their 3rd leading scorer, Phil Booth, broke his hand last game and is out indefinitely. Jermaine Samuels is already out with a broken hand. Colin Gillespie is back from a broken hand but looked totally lost last game in the few minutes he played. Mikal Bridges has not looked his aggressive self in the last two games and has probably tweaked something. So....they take on Marquette who only has one speed: pedal to the metal. It would serve Nova to slow the game, if possible, to preserve energy and protect their thin bench.
I have predicted the Cats to NOT cover in their last two and they HAVE covered. Maybe the third time?s the charm. Going with a 5 point teaser: Marquette +12.5/Under 167.
