It?s the Cats and the Dogs yet again as VILLANOVA takes on Butler (15-3) on the VILLANOVA Campus at 7:00 eastern. Nova is -3.5/130.5. Butler has lost two straight as DePaul torched them from 3 range (60%) and Seton Hall beat them on the foul line. Seton Hall just may be the best team in the Big East. They are playing the best right now. So, it will be with a bit of desperation, the Bulldogs will march into the Cat House.
Butler will need it?s three studs: Baldwin, Tucker and McDermott to come up big. In the last two games, Baldwin carried the load. Expect them to go inside vs Nova early and play tenacious defense from the tip.
The Wildcats keep winning with defense. They have now gone 8 straight games of shooting under 40% yet have won seven of those. Each game, one player has the hot hand and carries them. It was Samuels last game. Tonight...who knows? Nonetheless, expect the Cats to switch defenses all night to try to confuse Butler. One would have to believe that baskets will not come easy. On the other hand, both clubs are due to shoot well. We shall see.
Going with a teaser tonight believing this will be a one possession game either way. Butler+8.5/Under 135.5.
