i think there are two factors people are overlooking tonight. 1) this is san diego state's first bowl game in 12 years. huge motivational edge to the aztecs. 2) san diego st has already played, and beaten, an option team - air force. while it's slightly different than what navy runs, it's a hell of a lot better than if they hadn't seen an option team all year. i still don't love the play, because i hate betting teams playing a bowl game at home. but i think the long absence from a bowl game outweighs that factor.
