If they are for a home game and you don't mind the imitation composite chips you can get them dirt cheap on EBAY these days. I have a set and they are perfect for home games.

I have also seen them lately at big lots and toys r us for prices that didn't seem too exorbitant to me.

Kdogg it depends on how many you are buying, what weight, and what design. A good 11.5 gram chip you can get for about .10 cents a piece which is a very good deal. They also come in a carrying case. Get my email from Jack I can give you a few websites. I run 2 poker games a week so know a little about this :)

Ebay has some preety good deals on set of chips. I think I will end up purchasing them from their.

oldvegaschips.com is a nice site. I love those casino chips, but I hate to pay for $5 a chip.

thanks again guys for the help. I'm still searching

oh hey another question. Do you think I should just buy like a set of 300 just for my own use, or buy like a set of 1000. Alot of my friends have the big sets, but I kind of would just rather have my own.

I looked on ebay for a while. The main seller there has a lot of bad feedback about their chips. I don't really trust positive feedback and read negative feedback individually. The feedback consistently stated that the chips were dirty  and they weren't exactly as advertised.

I am a big fan of ebay, so I usually don't warn against it.

Just my two cents.

BTW, it looks like the link the bsucards listed has them slightly cheaper than what I paid. If I had to do it again, I would probably go that route. They have a 1,000 chip set (actually 2- 500 chip sets) for just over $100. That is pretty good, and you can easily only carry one case to a smaller game if needed.
