Over the weekend we were playing poker and one guy had a straight flush and since we were playing with a wild card another had five of a kind. We awarded the hand to the guy with 5 of a kind but it created a HUGE argument nonetheless. We looked it up online and it seems that was the correct call but I was just wondering if anyone else has had a problem dealing with the 5 of a kind situation.

Yea thats kind of odd. :com: No idea on this one. Just play without the wild cards.

I think Doyle mentioned this scenario in his book Super System.

On a side note, do you guys use chips, or just nickels and dimes?

Is BDB the best player in your game? Were you at BDB's house, and is it nice?

5 of a kind beats a straight flush when wild cards are used. "Out at Home" and "Low in the Hole Roll Your Own" have 5 of a kind hands as well as str8 flushes routinely.

We use chips Agent. It was about a $60 pot. And no I wasn't at BDB's house. It's way too hard getting by the guard at his estate.
