Not only did the Bills? President and GM Tom Donahoe swallow Drew Rosenhaus?s smoke over Willis McGahee last year ? I don?t recall McGahee going to the Pro Bowl or winning the Rookie of the Year, do you? ? but he bought into J.P. Losman?s self-promotion this year and traded a bunch of picks to get the questionable prospect. So if you ever have any swampland in Florida you?d like to sell, I?d recommend you give Donahoe a call first.

It is true that you can?t judge a draft until a few years down the line, but I?m comfortable giving the Minnesota Vikings an A+ simply because they remembered to make all of their selections this year. Good for you, Vikes! Everyone is very proud of you!

Archie Manning: I?m sure it helps you sleep at night by telling yourself that your NFL career was a complete failure only because you were drafted by a bad team, and not because of your own failings. But unfortunately for you, that?s not the case. You threw 48 more interceptions than touchdowns and had just a 55 percent completion percentage for your career. Struggling franchise or not, that sucks. And at some point, if you were truly as great as you think you were, shouldn?t you have been able to right the franchise just a bit? Yet in your 11 seasons in New Orleans the team never had a winning season. Not a single one. As the starting quarterback, don?t you think you may have played just a teensy weensy role in the team?s ineptitude? Why make the vast majority of the country hate your son because you refuse to come to terms with the real reasons for your NFL failures?

How did Miami not win the national championship last year? Six picks among the first 21? Six?! Either the rest of their players were paraplegics or the corpse that is Larry Coker needs a job evaluation.

And if Miami didn?t win it all, then Ohio State definitely should have. Fourteen Buckeyes were selected. Fourteen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meaning approximately two-thirds of their starters were ready for the NFL. Only two-thirds of the Arizona Cardinals are NFL caliber, but I doubt they would have lost to Wisconsin and Michigan.

I can?t understand why the NHL doesn?t get better ratings with such classic rivals as Montreal and Tampa Bay battling it out in the playoffs. The history between those two goes a long way back ? at least all the way to the middle of last week.

With the government watching every move he makes and baseball finally having a steroids policy, there is no way Barry Bonds is dumb enough to be on an illegal substance this season. And whatever you may have thought about the impact his (alleged) steroid use has had on his career home run total, I think his early season performance has pretty much ended the debate. Even if he has taken drugs in the past, it?s pretty obvious he doesn?t need them.

Finally! Baseball All-Star balloting has begun. I definitely feel as though I?ve seen enough at this point in the season to make informed selections.

IE...........his juice use even say 3 yrs ago still benefits him today even though he may be clean........Its a known fact a person can juice .......gain say 25 lbs of muscle mass and still 3 yrs or more down the line still have a quality 20 lbs left as long as they continue to work out and eat properly. So he doesnt have to be on the juice this year to still get the benefits of his past use especially when you consider the probabilty that he was juicing as recent as last october........6 months ago:confused:

This is one of my biggest gripes every year about the NFL. Teams are so eager to jump on the great hype machine for a particular player. Donahoe seems to be the greatest sucker of all in the past two years. Ryan Leif is another example. The guy has one good season in college, and he was close to knocking perrennial star, Peyton Manning, from the #1 pick. I didn't expect Leif to suck nearly as bad as he did, but I never thought he would be a consistant starter in the league.

Willlis McGahee being drafted in the first round last year not only proves that Donahoe and his staff are chumps, but it also proves that Drew Rosenhaus -- McGahee's agent -- earned every last penny in one day that he will receive through McGahee's career.

Next question: If you are an NFL prospect, why choose anyone besides Rosenhaus? I think Rosenhaus should have a picture of McGahee on his business card.

first of all, thanks for starting this thread.

i thought archie, along with staubach, the 2 best college players that i have ever seen.

i do think archie would have been a great qb if he had other good players around him. i think that you are being too tough on archie in blaming him for not taking the aints to the playoffs. i think the management of n.o. bears the blame (forgot who they were) for not doing their job.

can you say the samething about sonny jugensen, gayle sayers, & others for not taking their teams to the promised land ?

i hopefully will make other comments about you post when time permits.
