My grandpa turned 96 this week. He has been capping all sports
for over 60 yrs. He played college football at Wofford College in the 1930s. We live in the foothills of S.C. He has never seen in person and NFL,NBA, or MLB game. The only college games he played in them. He has about 20 players that call him or come by everyday for his plays. Sometimes they give him 5 to 10 dollars other times meat, beer, cut his grass, even hair cuts. He does not even have a computer, he states : can not trust them goverment owns them all. Calls local everyday for lines(old friend). Never had to look for someone to buy his picks. Funny thing is 60 yrs. later they are still all good friends. I can sit for hours and listen to him and friend talking about mill village baseball games they capped 50 years ago. I think the art of a true handicappier is starting to be lost. I think we should all sit down and soak up this knowledge. I ask him all the time about his record, he says: got many friend, enough money, plenty of beer, grass cut, and fresh hair cut. I know @ birthday party yesterday he gave out: Sac. -5,Minn-10. Baseball: San Diego and Oakland. Not selling his service,he would not sell to goverment agents anyway. Just saying we need to take time and enjoy them. Their almost gone. AL
