portland -14

portland comes into this game with the leagues best record since the allstar break with a 18-3 mark and are on a 15-4 ats run capped of with 10 straight wins after their big win in minnesota the other night. now they come home where they have won 5 in a row ats. meanwhile memphis has played portland 3 times already this year including 2 times in memphis and have lost all 3 ats by an average of 22.3 points per game. memphis is 6-28 overall on the road su and only average 88.2 points per game on the road this year. memphis also on a 0-6 su/2-3-1 ats run. portland just too hot of a team right now and should roll at home over a poor memphis team.

take portland and lay the 14 points

Dave, I would be a little cautious on this game. Port just finished a one week road trip and after tonight have SA, LAL, and Sea the next three. A great spot to rest the team, play very little d and coast to a 6-7 point win. I agree that Port should cover but this is a tired team that needs the rest. Good luck

This game scares me too. I know Portland should blow them out, but how does Portland mentally prepare for a game like this, especially on a Monday night, when the crowds are generally pretty laid back? If there ever was a classic let-down spot, this is it. I am probably going to pass on the game, or if anything, a small play on Memphis. Good luck whatever you decide.

Some nice trend convergence here:

Memphis is 39-20 ATS as a dog of 12.5 or more (since 1997)
Portland is 13-23 ATS as a fave of 12.5 or more (since 1997)

the exact same thing that happened when they played dallas the other night. dallas up big then pulls all of its starters and blows the spread.

I gave up on my Memphis bet after 3 quarters with them down 19. I figured there might be a chance for a backdoor, but Portland likes to slam teams when they're down. Needless to say I was shocked to see the score this morning; being up by 19 to start the 4th quarter against one of the worst teams in the league, this could be the biggest meltdown of the season.
