That time of year.... TG.... A fellow capper that I really admire always told me that there was no need to go crazy with your bankroll during Pre-season, however, there is value in picking your spots. My MLB bankroll took a hit so I have been playing on paper. Time to turn my attention to Football. Have a great season guys!

Tonight : 8-11

1. Played Under 35' Denver (3 unit) win

Lean to Jets -3

Nice to start the season with a W.

Today: 8-12

Vikings +2' over Cinci (4 units) win
*I think this Minnesota team is going to be special this year. Zimmer and Spielman have put together a nice roster on both sides of the ball. Vikings should know Bengals pretty well as they have been practicing together the last couple of days. Zims knows Cinci as this was his home before tenure with Vikes as D. CO. Vikings have had a lot of preseason success under Zimmer and just think they will have the best talent on the field tonight from top to bottom.

Add Olympic BBall :

Canada (W) +30 over Team USA (W) push*I actually won my wager as I had 30'...but won't count it on my record

France - 18 over Venezuela win

Serbia +25 over Team USA *I will be looking to fade this version of the Dream Team in spots down the road. I cashed a nice ticket the other day with Australia. I also bet that the field would win gold this year before this tournament started. Just don't see any real leadership on this squad and won't be surprised if France, Spain and or Croatia pull off the upset. win... Easy Win... Overated

Saturday 8/13

One play thus far...

Los Angeles /Dallas Under 36 (3 units) *Plenty of motivation for LA to get out and make a statement with an expected 90k fans coming out to start the new Era. They are even wearing throw back uniforms (yes for a pre-season game) and Fisher knows he is on the hot seat. One would think that LA - 5 would be the call, however, sometimes preseason aspirations don't necessarily manifest on the field. I look for Dallas to continue their preseason woes and believe the under should hold up here.LOSS

Add:
Argentina - 2 over Brazil (2 units) WIN
Home team getting too much respect. Think this should be a double digit win.

Lithuania +3' over Spain (2 units) *Not sure what the problem is with the Spaniards, as they haven't looked anything like the team that played 4 years ago in the Gold medal game. An outright win by Lithuania wouldn't surprise me. LOSS

Belarus (W) +14 over Australia (2 units) (W)...looks like too many points for the Aussies. WIN

I will probably post these in the NBA forum, however I'm a lazy poster, and there really isn't an official forum for Olympic Hoops. So forgive me.

Thanks again. And nice work so far in the Pre-season.

Let's keep it going. My only concern with Argentina is tired, older legs. Nocioni, Scola, and Ginobli aren't spring chickens. Barbosa and Nene more than capable on the court. The gym should be rockin as this is a huge rivalry. Very loud. However, because Argentina is loaded with veterans I expect them to handle the noise. In addition, Brazil hasn't played well with the exception of the upset over Spain. I also have a lean to the under in this match up. Gluck to you.

*I will update record sometime today.

Today: 8-14

One game on tap this afternoon. This is my week 1 pre-season revenge game of the month  well not really..... Bet 49ers - 3 (3 units) A couple of things I look for in the pre-season line up for this tilt. Texan O-line is really banged up. Think 49er defense will control line of scrimmage. These 2 teams practiced together on Friday. Caepernick is supposed to get some reps even youth he is nursing a shoulder /arm injury which he likens to dead arm. New coach Chip Kelly wants to set the stage and get off to quick start. B. Gabbert is reportedly having a good camp and will start. Osweiller gets the nod for Texans....LOSS

Adding Olympic Basketball :

1. France (M) +18' (7 units) over Team USA...... I have no problem making this big wager against this band of spoiled athletes. I mentioned before I would be looking to fade Team USA, and here is my shot. I have tried to make a case for the red, white, and blue, however, there are simply too many leaks that I fear the dam may rupture. It's not all Team USA fault. This team hasn't been together less than a month since they started training. Perhaps the biggest issue is there are no leaders on this team. Too many me-first players. No strictly business (LeBron James) or win at all costs (Kobe Bryant), or killer instinct (Dwayne Wade). Team USA's offense is in bad shape and lacks consistency, poor fundamentals; no blocking out, noone diving for balls, nothing resembles a defense, horrid rebounding, players out of control, hot heads..... Well, you get my point. Yes, they are superior athletes.... But, our top scorers, like K. Durant is only averaging 13 points a game on 30% shooting. Kay Thompson (one of the best shooters in the NBA) is struggling from all over averaging 15.4%. The team is completely disjointed from not playing together. We are constantly out of position which was evident in the last play against Serbia, where their best shooter was inexplicably left wide open for a 3 but by the hand of God missed. There is no Alpha-dog like Kobe in 2012. 10 players are making their Olympic debut, while 6 have had no experience with the International game and rules. We look like we are treating it like a glorified pick up game. Carmelo Anthony is not the answer. I question his heart. While I'm happy grabbing the 18 points offered, I think it's important to note that France has one of the best starting line-ups in this competition. Tony Parker, Nick Batum, Nandi de Colo, Bonus Diaw, and Rudy Gobert make up a talented and very dangerous front and back court. All but Colo currently play in the NBA. Colo was like mvp of his Euroleague he plays in so no slouch. Perhaps France biggest disadvantage is there isn't much depth, however, there wasn't on Serbia either. Yes, Team USA could find their rhythm and on athleticism alone cover the number and it's important to note that the game is meaningless to France as they are already guaranteed a spot in the quarter finals, and securing a 3 seed is a lock, but the game is meaningless to USA too, and France would love nothing better than to take down Goliath. For morale and confidence most assuredly. I plan to throw a couple of units in the ML,too. Good luck whatever side you take. BIG WIN

Adding: 8-14

*Again I apologize for posting this in NFL forum

1. Australia - 22 over Venezuela... 3 units... Aussies are playing a fine brand of hoops. Bogut and Co. should be able to handle this number. WIN

2. Team USA (W) - 41 over China (W) .. 3 units... This team is loaded from top to bottom. Auriemma has no qualms about running up scores. USA bench could beat most Womens teams in this tournament. Men's team could learn a few lessons from the gals. Team USA can name score.
WINNA
3. Serbia (W) / Senegal (W) under 149'...3 units....Number is too high. LOSS

4. Canada (W) / Spain (W) over 129...3 units... My number is double digit higher. WIN

Lean: Canadian Women +7 over Spain
