*I will update record sometime today.
Today: 8-14
One game on tap this afternoon. This is my week 1 pre-season revenge game of the month  well not really..... Bet 49ers - 3 (3 units) A couple of things I look for in the pre-season line up for this tilt. Texan O-line is really banged up. Think 49er defense will control line of scrimmage. These 2 teams practiced together on Friday. Caepernick is supposed to get some reps even youth he is nursing a shoulder /arm injury which he likens to dead arm. New coach Chip Kelly wants to set the stage and get off to quick start. B. Gabbert is reportedly having a good camp and will start. Osweiller gets the nod for Texans....LOSS
Adding Olympic Basketball :
1. France (M) +18' (7 units) over Team USA...... I have no problem making this big wager against this band of spoiled athletes. I mentioned before I would be looking to fade Team USA, and here is my shot. I have tried to make a case for the red, white, and blue, however, there are simply too many leaks that I fear the dam may rupture. It's not all Team USA fault. This team hasn't been together less than a month since they started training. Perhaps the biggest issue is there are no leaders on this team. Too many me-first players. No strictly business (LeBron James) or win at all costs (Kobe Bryant), or killer instinct (Dwayne Wade). Team USA's offense is in bad shape and lacks consistency, poor fundamentals; no blocking out, noone diving for balls, nothing resembles a defense, horrid rebounding, players out of control, hot heads..... Well, you get my point. Yes, they are superior athletes.... But, our top scorers, like K. Durant is only averaging 13 points a game on 30% shooting. Kay Thompson (one of the best shooters in the NBA) is struggling from all over averaging 15.4%. The team is completely disjointed from not playing together. We are constantly out of position which was evident in the last play against Serbia, where their best shooter was inexplicably left wide open for a 3 but by the hand of God missed. There is no Alpha-dog like Kobe in 2012. 10 players are making their Olympic debut, while 6 have had no experience with the International game and rules. We look like we are treating it like a glorified pick up game. Carmelo Anthony is not the answer. I question his heart. While I'm happy grabbing the 18 points offered, I think it's important to note that France has one of the best starting line-ups in this competition. Tony Parker, Nick Batum, Nandi de Colo, Bonus Diaw, and Rudy Gobert make up a talented and very dangerous front and back court. All but Colo currently play in the NBA. Colo was like mvp of his Euroleague he plays in so no slouch. Perhaps France biggest disadvantage is there isn't much depth, however, there wasn't on Serbia either. Yes, Team USA could find their rhythm and on athleticism alone cover the number and it's important to note that the game is meaningless to France as they are already guaranteed a spot in the quarter finals, and securing a 3 seed is a lock, but the game is meaningless to USA too, and France would love nothing better than to take down Goliath. For morale and confidence most assuredly. I plan to throw a couple of units in the ML,too. Good luck whatever side you take. BIG WIN
