My fav site Seeking Alpha
http://seekingalpha.com/

has come up some new resources they call apps--they have several--some pay but mostly free--
They have the usuals morningstar-zacks etc but I have one 1 I had never heard of called Validea.

If you plug in stock symbol it will rank stock according to several investing icons methods.

Here is example of one of only 3 stocks I have that came up A.

I just wish I knew what criteria they used.
I always look at how my stocks rank with Graham in particular--and have never plugged in stock that wasn't a 0 with Buffett

The report offers a basic percentage ranking of any stock using our interpretation of the investment models of Wall Street legends like Warren Buffett, Ben Graham and Peter Lynch. "A" rated stocks pass the strict fundamental tests of at least one of our top performing guru strategies. Stocks that receive this grade typically currently display desirable attributes that would be looked for by both growth and value investors.

Validea's Guru System classifies this stock as both a growth and value stock given its PE Ratio of 9.6 and its historical EPS growth rate of 36.7%.

This stock passes Validea's P/E Growth Investor strategy based on our interpretation of the published criteria of Peter Lynch with a score of 93%. The strategy looks for stocks that trade at a discount to their long-term earnings growth rates, which also show signs of financial strength.

This stock passes Validea's Value Investor strategy based on our interpretation of the published criteria of Benjamin Graham with a score of 100%. The strategy looks for deep value stocks that offer investors a "margin of safety" over their intrinsic value.

DTB that is also one of my favourite sites, there are plenty of good web sites for financials. do not visit many.

the stock screener looks very good, and the stock is behaving well, over 2.90. a good tool to evaluate a stock based on all of those screeners. one based on Graham but changed slightly I follow every year. He has beaten the average but only slightly and someone in my shareclub believed the index basically did almost as well, this was more volatile.

I plan to use stock screeners more, especially after selloffs, and into rallys so I do not miss some stocks that are performing well, or cheap.

one book that is worth reading is Your next Great Stock by Jack Hough (wiley, 2008) a great book that discusses different screening methods.

have written about a dozen that plan to try....of coarse that was two months ago, will get around to it, by early next year...lol. still 250 pages and a good read.

with a rally, weak dollar, have to like the resources.

thanks
