Hofstra - over Drexal ******
Hof is coming off a huge home win vs 25th ranked G.Mason.They were there 19th str home game,etc,etc.
Hof won by 1 in OT in Philly a month ago.But Drex on the road has some seroius shooting woes.They are dead last in the CAA in offense and at the bottom in FG%.Meanwhile Hof is ranked No 2 in offense.Both teams are even in rebounding and many other stats.Drx defense is a few notches ahead.
Both teams are gd orintated.Drxs has 4 gds that can score and Hof has 3.
This game has no real value for Drex.They are set at being seeded 7th or 8th,playing at noon or later in the Conf tourney.Hof also gets a bye but has a shot at 2nd place and a win today gives them a top 50 RPI,22 wins and a shot at an at-large.Throw in 19 str home games, undefeated at home for the season,senior day,etc.Pecora has done an outstanding job with no depth what so ever.Vs Mason he had 0 pts from his bench.But Augdio,Riveria,and Stokes are the 3 best gds in the east.Uter inside is tough and Kieza can score inside-outside.Drex has Mejia who can stick the 3 but they barly beat the weak W&mary the other nite.Mary packed a zone and Drex couldn't hit.
Drex on the rd has lost almost every game in cong by the magic number 7.ODU,Wilma,Del and Mary.Mary and Del are weak and they couldn't handle them,
Pride today will come out pumped.The line is below the magic 7 so I love it.This will be a double digit win at home.No let down in Long Island.Hof is always second cousins to the Johnnies,Halls,Rutgers,Cuses in tri-state media,etc.They are 8-2 ats home and I've been riding them at home since day 1.
Siena - over Niagara ****
Saints were pre-season last in the MAAC.Today they play for 4th place and a bye in the tourney.Last yr they lost 24 games.They just knocked off Iona and play Niagara who I watched get beat by Marist the other nite.Kojo,Jordan and Fisher are 3 scorers but they are great defenderd.Iona other then Burtt had trouble scoring.Perimeter defense was outstanding.Siants problems are playing ve Post players.Well NU doesn't have one.Mathis who has a basketball IQ of 10 had 3 quick fouls vs marist and had to sit.Since Fisher went down for NU Brown has stepped up in 4 games to avg 24 pts a game.but vs Marist the other nite he came down to earth.NU undisciplined,shoots 3's from everywhere,defense non exsistent,backdoors,no boxing out,etc,etc,
Tay F hit 5 tre's for Siena,Jordan leads in scoringreb,etc.Kojo I love and hasbrouck was named this week MAAC rookie of the week for the 7th time.
Talk about a team that might win the conf.They could..and the tourney of couse is in Albany.
