NJDBOY............yeh, it sure would be grrrrrreat to have a season ending game with everyone going full tilt.........I'd even take going 100% and not the 110 that you proposed. Half of the players don't even accept the invite & walk or skip due to "injuries" or some other flimsy excuse. Hawaii is nice, but maybe the trip is a pain in the butt, I don't know.
I can remember in my younger days when I played, (no football, tho, baskets & bases only) playing in all - star games meant almost as much as a championship game to me. So much pride involved for me, I hoped it would be my best game of the year. I couldn't wait to show off my stuff with the best of my peers, just couldn't wait. Maybe some of it was that the teams I was on usually were sub-par and I lacked an abundance of other truly important games. One of my fondest memories of my youth was taking home the trophy for being the high scorer in annual the city-wide all star basketball game, I remember it like it was yesterday, although it was many , many moons ago.
Ahh, things have changed, I guess........it's nothing that I haven't realized on my own, already.
Too bad some additional incentives couldn't be added somehow. Baseball does it with added homefiled advantage........I realize foots can't do it that way, tho. Maybe it is too violent a game for teams to be sending their stars out to participate in, the nature of the foot game is different, although the risk for injury abounds in all sports. Or, maybe the $$ incentive just isn't there for today's mega-rich already star. Or, perhaps it's the "I know I'm better than thou, already" attitude that permeates taday's sports.
I dunno.
Enough rambling for today. Seems like everyone is on he over............GL to you all.
