Milw at CHI CUBS

Although I love LIEBER at home, cannot justify laying -220 on CUBS when they are on a losing streak, and MILW has won 4 straight. Milw swept the CUBS here in JUNE, and some may say, "The CUBS are due", but I don't BUY that, nor LAY it. IE made some excellent points in regards to the BP situation for both teams, and I think this game goes OVER despite the wind coming in. LIEBER, although he's pitching great, has had four of his last home starts go OVER as he's enjoyed great support there. I also like the BREW CREW +1.5 as noted by YYZ, but only posted the OVER on my UMP thread. So that's it for the first game...

OVER 7.5 -110

Stl at CINCY

There is NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING that I can find to justify playing CINCY, or NOT PLAYING STL!!
eek.gif
The scariest part of this game is, WHY SO LOW??? CARDS on 11 game win streak, albeit at home mainly, but REDS have lost 8 straight. REITSMA can't win at home where the REDS are 1-11 when he starts, and 0-8 when he starts at nite. REDS have no incentive to play, have the worst HOME record in BASEBALL, are 4-7 on Mondays, 6-12 in AUGUST, and 27-49 after a loss. STL just swept the REDS last week in STL, and these same two matched up five days ago, with STL winning 8-4. WILLIAMS has won his last five decisions, and I can't see that changing. The OVER is also 9-1-1 in CINCY's last 11 home games, and unless there's a BIG TIME UNDER UMP behind HP, I'm going with the OVER in this one too. Neither pitcher has been going very far into the game, so expect to see both BP's by the sixth or seventh at the latest. With the LEFTY lineup CINCY has, there should be plenty of offense tonite, so let's see another CARDS win, say, 7-4 will do!

STL -145
OVER 9.5 EVEN

Excellent point on Leiber and ubs. St. Louis
game does bring up some interesting points. Yes, it does seem virtually nonsensical to play the Reds. Price is reasonable - Cards hven't lost in 3 or 4 years - it is amazing. Baseball is a game of streaks, whether winning or losing, but how far do you go? I'd like to hear some viewpoints on that.
Good luck on your plays

The UMP in CIN is probably gonna bury my OVER play, but I'll be happy as long as STL wins the game.

Boston at ANAHEIM

Hopefully we get an UNDER UMP in this game, as I like the UNDER alot! ANAHEIM is on a roll and should win this game behind VALDES. The only problem is, they seldom score for the guy, averaging 2 RPG in his last four starts. With a few starters out for BOSTON, I have to think the UNDER is the way to go. I see everyone on ANA, and I don't blame em, but my line is now up to -165, and that's a bit steep I feel. My play for now is UNDER, and will be UNLESS the UMP is ridicously an OVER UMP.

ANA UNDER 9.5 -120

Cleveland at OAKLAND

A's are on fire, and CLEVELAND was until running into the HOT ANGELS! NOW, CLEV has to pack up and head to OAKLAND and face MORE LEFTIES! They couldn't hit WASHBURN yesterday at home, and I can't see that changing too much with ZITO, except he does rely on his curve a lot more. OAKLAND is hitting the ball very well, FINLEY has been SERVING THEM UP! In his last five starts, FINLEY has given up 33 hits and 13 walks in a mere 18 innings of work!

If he does that with OAKLAND's power, he won't make it til the 4th! I like the A's tonite, and though I'm tempted to take em on the RUN LINE, I'll just play em to win!

OAKLAND -155

** there are some who think CLEV will want to avenge that 17-4 WHOOPING OAK put on em at home, but I can't see it... this game may turn into a slugfest, but OAK still comes out on top in my opinion.

Detroit at SEATTLE

Fresh off BASHING the BRONX BOMBERS, I think SEATTLE will kill DETROIT TONITE! They are going for their 90th win, and I don't think they want to wait another game! They've done very well vs knuckler SPARKS, as he is just 2-3 with a 5.76 ERA vs SEA. Meanwhile, GARCIA is fresh off a great game in BOSTON, and should shut down the weak bats of DET. LINEUPS look set, all regulars are in, so I'm looking for an EASY SEATTLE WIN!

SEATTLE -230
SEATTLE -1.5 -125
