I know I probably can't duplicate yesterday's results, so I will be treading lightly today... too much going on, and I LOVE betting NFL halftimes!

Atlanta at NY METS

I find it hard to type this, but realistically, ATLANTA is the side today. GLAVINE is 8-2 in his last 10 vs METS, ATL is best in Game 3 after a loss, 13-6, and when facing a lefty on the road. I know the METS are the hottest ticket in the land right now, but getting plus money with the better pitcher who needs to give his team a lift is the way I'm going. I'm looking for a tighter game here with M. HIRSHBECK behind the plate. HT is just 12-20 with him back there and the totals go 11-20. I'm taking both ATL and UNDER, figuring if NY is to beat me, LIETER pitches nearly a shutout! Batters will be forced to hit the outside pitch, putting veterans LIETER and GLAVINE in control of this one...

Tampa at TORONTO

KENNEDY is starting for TBAY and has a solid UNDER trend going for him. Unfortunately, he's facing a hot hitting TOR club who is killing lefties at over .320 in the past 10. HP UMP gives no real advantage, and with the other games, and NFL too, I'm passing on this one. NO advantage here... lean is to taking TBAY +1.5 runs.

Detroit at BOSTON

Two pitchers in a funk, both who have great stuff, just either tired, bored, not motivated or a combination. Lots of call-ups have been playing on both sides, and with these two going today, I look for the bats to be quiet. Considered DET as a play, but to keep it simple, I'll stay with the UNDER 9 as HOLLOWELL calls it fair, and his games average just under 9 a game.

Colorado at MONTREAL

This is GAME OF DAY for me... taking both MONTREAL and OVER. MONT is facing a lefty their strong suit, and with WOLF behind the plate, we get a guy who strongly favors the home team and OVER... everything is coming up EXPOS!

K.C. at CHICAGO WS

To me, this game has the perfect set-up for an OVER and RUN-LINE play. CWS are hitting the ball well, and DURBIN is struggling. Also he is 0-2 vs CWS with a 9.72 ERA. KC struggles mightily vs LEFTIES on the road, and that is what they are looking at today. I dont think it helps they've lost two close games in a row either... look for SOX to roll to a sweep!! My only problem with going OVER is KC's lack or runs for DURBIN, and how they struggle vs LH starters... let's take the SOX here.

CWS -1.5 EVEN

Cleveland at MINNESOTA

UNDER UNDER UNDER.... two lefties going here with lots of trends pointing UNDER. FINLEY has pitched well of late, mostly at home, but still MINNY struggles vs LEFTIES most of the time. MILTON at home is solid and with M.WINTERS 10-18 O/U behind the plate, I'll go UNDER the generous 9 here. With VIKINGS on TV, won't be many at this game to see a low scoring bore...

Cincy at MILW

BIG TIME home and UNDER UMP CUZZI behind the plate for this one. Favors the HT 23-8 and UNDER 21-9. DESSENS is 7-2 UNDER when he starts during the day, and SHEETS is tough but gets little support. With CUZZI in back, I'm taking the BREW CREW and UNDER, hoping for another 3-1 game, but with MILW on top!

Chi Cubs at HOUSTON

Pitching says UNDER, trends say OVER, as do the bats as both teams are smacking the ball and it is in ENRON! I can't go against LIEBER's day/UNDER trend, but won't go with it either with the CUBS BP possibly a factor. If forced to make a play, I'd take the HOME TEAM ASTROS who are 15-8 on Sunday, and are just playing much better overall. These same two pitchers went at it here in JULY and HOU won 5-2. Pass for me!

Anaheim at TEXAS

ANAHEIM is going through the motions of playing out the season, and are hardly a team I'd suggest betting on at this point. HOWEVER, ORTIZ is a very high strung competitor and will give it his all today. ORTIZ is 5-0 when starting against TEXAS with an ERA of 3.95 and a WHIP of 1.200, and he got beat by GARCIA last week in SEA, 4-0. If ANA gives him any runs, he'll get them a win. I was planning on taking the HALOS to avoid a sweep, and also the UNDER. HP UMP HUDSON favors the home team 19-10 and UNDER 12-16 O/U so I'm looking for just enough OFFENSE for someone to win but keep it UNDER.
Not gonna go up against a homer UMP that strong... btw.. his games average 8.33 per!

Arizona at L.A. DODGERS

Don't be surprised to see LA win again today as they are fired up all of a sudden. Schilling is 7-2 with a 2.58 ERA vs LA however and he NEEDS to put a stop to this slide. He's capable of going the distance, and if I were him, I would instead of turning it over to their pen. I can't decide on this one... but I know CURT will probably get taken deep at least once, and I'm figuring both pitchers come out for PH's at some point, and BOTH BPS = RUNS... gonna go with IE and take OVER in this one!

San Fran at SAN DIEGO

GO RIDE the UNDER TRAIN AGAIN! Neither offense is doing much and we have HERNDON going at home where he is 6-1 UNDER. ORTIZ can be scary, but in a pennant race, I gotta believe he comes up big today. TIMMONS behind the plate helps as he is 13-20 O/U and 2-5 when the line is 8.5. Shouldn't be more than 4 or 5 scored in this one...

Seattle at OAKLAND

Should be a great game, but I'm passing. Don't know what SEA will do now that they've finally lost a road series, three in a row, etc.... GARCIA will probably pitch lights out, but may not get enough runs to win off MULDER... UNDER is tempting, but still passing.
