Great game and huge props to UCLA defense, especially defensive coordinator DWANE WALKER! Awesome job. USC held to under 20pts? :scared Defensive battle and UCLA came on top. This game reminded me of USC/UCLA games prior to Pete Carroll. That is why I stopped going to USC/UCLA games @UCLA. They got boring.

UCLA had too much of an advantage getting 2 weeks to prepare and USC playing Oregon, CAL and ND 3 straight weeks prior. Also playing BACK 2 BACK weeks against 2 RIVALS. Brutal. USC couldn't overcome those obstacles. I think USC is the team that should get 2 week break before rivalry game.

All in all, nice SOLID win for UCLA! :thumb:

ROSE BOWL is a nice consolation prize. Winning the Pac 10 and going to a BCS Bowl game in a rebuilding year is sweet. BCS NC game would have been awesome but USC couldn't do it. Oh so close! That is the difference between USC and UCLA and USC and the rest of the country. That brings a smile to my face! USC is just getting started with their dynasty. :D

Oh yeah, today also reminding me again why college football is my favorite sport. :yup Unfortunately, it came at the expense of USC and my wallet losing 4.4 units. :mad:

GREAT JOB UCLA IN PULLING OFF THE UPSET!

The sad thing here is that now the BCS will try to spin it saying Michigan was the 2nd best all along.
Then why did Michigan get passed by USC??
I hope Fla hangs on so the BCS wont have an easy out.

Thanks to the BCS system, no one cares who wins the ROSE BOWL.
People dont even care or realize that Texas was Rose Bowl Champs last year as well.
That trophy was left back at the stadium when the Horns bus pulled out.

Bowl season is what it is. A reason to gamble and for companies to get their names on tv.Thanks BCS.You have ruined traditions and wont give us any playoff system on top of it.

Why is Michigan an "easy out", with 1 loss by 3 to the consensus #1 team?

They shouldn't have been passed last week to begin with - but so many people want to see a different team play Ohio State (with no regard to taking the 2nd best team).....

Ohio State - Michigan is not a "sexy" matchup, as they play every year and they are 2 midwest teams....

The BCS would like nothing better than to have 2 teams play that normally do not play and are from different parts of the country.

However, in doing so, you would not have the best 2 teams - which is what the BCS is supposed to be all about...

Let's not forget that FLA should have lost at home to SC 3 weeks ago, and were very lucky to win...

Regardless, tomorrow night should be very controversial and interesting....

This MAY get them closer to a playoff system - let's hope!

Not for ME and most USC fans.

Going to the Rose Bowl, winning the Pac 10 conference in a rebuilding year is great. Hopefully USC gets a great tradional program for their opponent. Michigan would be sweet. I would rather play in the BCS NC game but that was gravy. First year in a while I didn't bet USC to win it all because I knew all along it was gravy. ROSE BOWL was the realistic goal all along. USC is going! JOB WELL DONE!

Sorry, I get bored with USC winning by 30pts etc. I also don't like where my seats are in the Rose Bowl. I still watch the game on HD TV. This season was the most exciting USC season under the PC era. Only thing better would be going to BCS NC game. Only thing better than that would be winning the BCS NC game. I can't be greedy. USC is winning the National Championship next season. No doubt. Hopefully I can get at least 3-1 and I will pound it.

Why wouldn't I be happy with a Rose Bowl and 5th straight Pac 10 conf. championship? ESPECIALLY in a major rebuilding year both sides of the ball AND suffered injuries all year long. Lets be realistic. USC was still able to compete for a BCS NC and came so close. SCARY to think how good USC will be next year.

Don't get me wrong. I rather play Ohio St. and lose by 20pts than win the Rose Bowl game. You can't be greedy. You must be realistic. Now next year USC will win the BCS NC and anything less will be disappointing.
