We live in a different world now. America faces treats everyday. President Bush has been fighting this war from the beginning. His knowledge of everything going on couldn't possibly be passed to a new president. You may not like Bush but I really feel for the protection of America, you have no choice, but Bush. I read where people would pay a million dollars to have Kerry elected. I personally feel they know, something I don't.

There are some David that feel the french and germans would be a bigger allies against terrorist than Lybia-Yemen-Pakistan-Iraq-Afgan-Saudis-Jordan-Egypt ect.
I find it almost incomprehensible that Kerry can lead others to think he'd do a better job. He has already pissed off the leader of Iraq and no secret who Afgans Pres will be and his backing of Bush.
---ad to that the fact there are cells captured every day and about 75% of their leaders captured or dead--add to that the fact many of those in close to these allies would change with an administration change. Plus the our military is 70% in favor of this administration.

Now on flip side Kerry thinks going against all these and sucking up to the french and germans and U.N. is the better way.

Some say that Bushes aggression against terrorist and Iraq have only made the terrorist more angry--I sure hope to think it did.
---and in doing so they can not hide unabated anywhere anymore.
They were brought to the forefront by Bush after 911 and other Arab countries were forced to make choices. In pissing them off they have errored in my opinion by striking out against fellow Muslims which have turned once enemys into allies-Yemin-Pakistan-Suadi's-ect. They now have alienated themselves against other Muslim countries--the only tool working for them is their propaganda aided by the media and liberals. They need to be in the headlines and forefront to get their propaganda across. What better way than atrocities that gain frontpage headlines.
Read Algezeera and New York Times each day for one week and you'll get my drift.
Their ONLY hope is that the free world does not have the stomach for these headlines and that they will surrender to the terrorism as did Spain--while many surrender to their objective I firmly believe there are those that realize it is now or later and and I think they totally miscalulated our tenacity--

Maybe you were watching Fox when every other credible news source debunked the above statement?

Sorry Clem it was AP.

Per fact check.org

Al Qaeda

The President said twice that "75 percent" of al Qaeda leaders have been "brought to justice." But as The Associated Press reported Oct. 1, Bush was referring to the deaths or arrests of 75 percent of bin Laden's network at the time of the September 11 attacks -- not those who are running the terrorist organization today. The AP also reported that the CIA said earlier in the year two-thirds of those leaders are gone; at his acceptance speech in September, Bush increased his count to three-fourths based on unreleased intelligence data.

However,I'd expect you want more proof and after reading below you still won't believe.;)

David Protection of America starts at our borders. We ran off to Afgan (As We Should Have) after the 9/11 planners. And to kill there supporters. We then ran off to Iraq and left our borders just as they were before 9/11 wide open and our ports the same way. They say just on our southern border each day 2000 to 4000 come in. Were not sure about the North. Cargo ships bring in 5000 to 7000 containers everyday to all our ports. Less than 1/3 get checked. I hope we wake up in time. But it don't look that way.

Election determines fate of nation.
Mathew Manweller, Professor of Political Science, Central Washington University.

In that this will be my last column before the presidential election there will be no sarcasm, no attempts at witty repartee. The topic is too serious, and the stakes are too high.

This November we will vote in the only election during our lifetime that will truly matter. Because America is at a once-in-a-generation crossroads, more than an election hangs in the balance.

Down one path lies retreat, abdication and a reign of ambivalence. Down the other lies a nation that is aware of its past and accepts the daunting obligation its future demands. If we choose poorly, the consequences will echo through the next 50 years of history. If we, in a spasm of frustration, turn out the current occupant of the White House, the message to the world and ourselves will be twofold.

First, we will reject the notion that America can do big things. Once a nation that tamed a frontier, stood down the Nazis and stood upon the moon, we will announce to the world that bringing democracy to the Middle East is too big of a task for us. But more significantly, we will signal to future presidents that as voters, we are unwilling to tackle difficult challenges, preferring caution to boldness, embracing the mediocrity that has characterized other civilizations.

The defeat of President Bush will send a chilling message to future presidents who may need to make difficult, yet unpopular decisions. America has always been a nation that rises to the demands of history regardless of the costs or appeal. If we turn away from that legacy, we turn away from who we are.

Second, we inform every terrorist organization on the globe that the lesson of Somalia was well learned. In Somalia we showed terrorists that you don't need to defeat America on the battlefield when you can defeat them in the newsroom. They learned that a wounded America can become a defeated America. Twenty-four-hour news stations and daily tracing polls will do the heavy lifting, turning a cut into a fatal blow. Except that Iraq is Somalia times 10. The election of John Kerry will serve notice to every terrorist in every cave that the soft underbelly of American power is the timidity of American voters.

Terrorists will know that a steady stream of grizzly photos for CNN is all you need to break the will of the American people. Our own self-doubt will take it from there. Bin Laden will recognize that he can topple any American administration without setting foot on the homeland.

It is said that America's W.W.II generation is its 'greatest generation.' But my greatest fear is that it will become known as America's 'last generation.' Born in the bleakness of the Great Depression and hardened in the fire of WW II, they may be the last American generation that understands the meaning of duty, honor and sacrifice. It is difficult to admit, but I know these terms are spoken with only hollow detachment by many (but not all) in my generation. Too many citizens today mistake 'living in America' as 'being an American.' But America has always been more of an idea than a place. When you sign on, you do more than buy real estate. You accept a set of values and responsibilities.

This November, my generation, which has been absent too long, must grasp the obligation that comes with being an American, or fade into the oblivion they may deserve. I believe that 100 years from now historians will look back at the election of 2004 and see it as the decisive election of our century.

Depending on the outcome, they will describe it as the moment America joined the ranks of ordinary nations; or they will describe it as the moment the prodigal sons and daughters of the greatest generation accepted their burden as caretakers of the City on the Hill.

This was written in the Daily Record (Ellensburg, Washington newspaper) on Wed. Oct. 6, 2004.

Epilogue: The burden is now upon you to prove this was not a time for decisive action. We have shut down the Salman Pak training camp for Al Qaeda terrorists, as well as eliminated from Iraq the Abu Musab al-Zarqawi net-work, which had established a poison and explosives training camp in northeastern Iraq. Iraq was producing and sponsoring Al Qaeda terrorists trained in deployment of ricin, anthrax, VX, cyclosarin and many other WMD, during a time in which Al Qaeda had declared jihad against the US. Even Kerry falls short of calling the war a mistake, he just disagrees with it's execution. Unfortunately for him, that is a completely indefensible position since he has no experience directing a war. It's like armchair quarterbacking Dan Marino. I think it was overwhelmingly evident that this was a time for decisive action.

'armchair quarterbacking Dan Marino'??? That's some funny shit... More like second-guessing Rick Mirer. This guy's in his own little world when he says that Kerry has no experience directing a war, as if Dubyas record of directing wars is so stellar....Dan marino...lmao

They my be learning form Sudan also. What have we done there nothing. Hold it Powell stopped by for a visit.
But our security starts at our borders and they can say anything else they want. But the boys from 9/11 came right through our borders. And other then some work done at some airports. They could do it again tomorrow. Bush admits not enough money to do everything right now. No kidding we blew how much in Iraq 150 billion and counting. Mr Bush do you think folks for sure those with the real big bucks that have lots more to lose.
Hey might just give some that tax cut back so you would have enough money for security here at home.

I heard on the radio that 8 of the 17 9/11 hi-jackers were registered to vote. Can't verify this, but I'm sure they had DL among other things.

I'd be willing to bet that there is a bigger Al-Qaeda presence here in the US and also in Britain, France, Germany, Russia, etc. than there ever was in Iraq before we invaded.

Bush has all ready weakened this country so much the next President will have his hands full trying to catch up. Great contracts to Halliburton but our borders are left unprotected. God only knows how many dirty bombs have been brought into the country while we create more and more terrorists over in Iraq. A war we never should have started and one Bush clearly has no idea how to end. It ain't rocket science, he f*cked up in Iraq and he has to be replaced.

What I see in these post are statements backed by documents. The post who back Bush have solid evidence what they speak is from fact not here say. I have seen that people who back Kerry never wanted to go into Iraq. They believe France, Germany, Turkey, Russia, and the UN should have made the call, not President bush. They believe that health care is more important than the safety of our fellow people and loved ones. I want a good health care system thats good and affordable just like anyone Else but I feel security of America comes first. Look at your children, your grandchildren, your love ones and ask your self this question, What leader is best to protect them? President bush takes action to protect us. Kerry say's wrong war wrong time. Our military support Bush, not Kerry. All Kerry and his people do is make stupid attacks on the President and his staff. A good example today, Kerry's people attack Cheney for getting flu shot.Get real. Clinton got one and they said nothing.

Interesting Rebs post info thats true. Dems is B S. Read the paper. I just dont bother to cut and paste or pass on items found on the Web. I think it's good we have few here that don't like either one of these wonderful guys. At least that way you might even get info here that's not the standard party BS they want you to believe. You sound like you think were safer and our borders are all taken care of. You think that tax cut was more important then your security vote Bush.

John Kerry has no experience directing a war ???????

John Kerry has no experience directing a war ???????

Come on Chan Man...where does Mr Bush get his experience?????????? huh????????? He ignored every bit of advice given to him by our Generals and listened to Rumsfeld Chaney and Wolfowitz
A cocky idealogue, a draft dodger and a partisan Jew that wanted us to fund an invasion of Iraq by Israel in 1996. Yes Kiddies this goes back a ways. Thank God for Bill Clinton. In Mr. Bush he found the simpleton he needed. And yes i watched Wolfowitz's argument in front of Congress in disbelief in 1996. Kerry at least being a military man would have listened to his Generals and if this was to be done at all planed it beter..and i know he would not have sent our boys to battle without what they needed...like body armour or armour for all the humvees whose lack of has filled Walter Reed with amputees.
