MONTREAL CANADIENS (5-3-0-0) AT PHILADELPHIA FLYERS (2-1-3-1), 7 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Flyers try to end a three-game winless streak tonight when they welcome the Montreal Canadiens to the Wachovia Center.

Philadelphia is 0-1-1-1 since starting the season 2-0-2, losing to Los Angeles and Anaheim and skating to a tie with Carolina on Saturday. Against the Hurricanes, Mark Recchi scored a shorthanded goal with less than four minutes to go in regulation to force overtime. Jeremy Roenick, Michal Handzus and Eric Chouinard also scored for the Flyers, who were playing from behind for much of the evening.

Jeff Hackett made 31 saves in the stalemate, but the veteran netminder has surrendered four goals in each of the last three games. He had posted shutouts in his first two starts of the season.

On the injury front, Flyers winger Simon Gagne returned to the lineup Saturday after missing two tilts with a bruised shoulder.

Philly plays the second installment of a three-game homestand tonight and will face Florida on Wednesday.

Montreal, meanwhile, had a two-game winning streak snapped via a 6-2 loss to Ottawa on Saturday. The Canadiens, who wrapped up a six-game home set, received two goals from defenseman Sheldon Souray but couldn't muster anything else. Jose Theodore finished with 25 saves for the Habs, who had outscored the opposition by an 18-4 margin in the previous six games.

The Canadiens, who continue to play without captain Saku Koivu (knee), will host Boston on Tuesday to kick off a home-and-home.

Philadelphia went 4-0 against Montreal last season and has won six of the last eight meetings. The Habs have lost in two consecutive trips to the City of Brotherly Love.

ATLANTA THRASHERS (4-1-2-1) AT TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS (4-2-2-0), 7:30 p.m.

(Sports Network) - The Toronto Maple Leafs seek their fourth straight win tonight when they welcome Ilya Kovalchuk and the Atlanta Thrashers to Air Canada Centre.

The Leafs received some reinforcements Saturday, as both Alexander Mogilny (groin) and McCabe (knee) returned to the lineup. Mogilny chipped in a pair of assists.

Toronto's only remaining injured players are winger Mikael Renberg, who is day-to-day with a side strain, and backup goaltender Trevor Kidd, sidelined indefinitely after shoulder surgery.

The Maple Leafs will visit Buffalo on Thursday.

Atlanta, meanwhile, is coming off its first regulation loss of the season, a 3-2 setback versus Florida on Saturday. Kovalchuk and Slava Kozlov tallied in defeat, while Pasi Nurminen finished with 22 saves.
