Many people have wondered what exactly is in the briefcase that Vincent and Jules go to fetch for their boss, Marsellus Wallace, at the beginning of the movie. Tarantino has since stated the briefcase is just a MacGuffin and the contents aren't important. However, the original script had the briefcase containing the diamonds stolen in Reservoir Dogs.
