I think that Germany and the USA are very close. The good thing for the USA is that Germany hasn't survived the QF stage the last two times out losing to Bulgaria and Croatia, not necessarily world powers at the time. The bad thing is that they remind me of their 1986 WC run where they barely made it out of the first round (losing one match), barely won their second round game, then beat a CONCACAF team in the QF. No one gave them a chance and they ended up losing the final against Argentina thanks to a big keeper mistake.

Germany 3 USA 2 (OT)

England and Brazil could end up with the winner taking it all. I've said this before, Brazil has the top ranked attack but they faltered against a defense which is not regarded as top notch managing two late goals. England has some speed up front, good ball control skills and a midfield that plays together at Man U.
England 2 Brazil 1 (Ronaldo and Rivaldo keep their goal scoring streak alive but won't get a chance to extend it!)

Spain plays the home team; a red hot home team that never quits. Their defense has allowed only two goals. They've played some good strikers while maintaining that record so Morientes may not scare them. Raul is day-to-day and probably won't be 100% for this match. South Korea runs at you and the Spanish backline is old with Hierro and Nadal in there. Helguera has been a nice surprise but I think it's the end of the road for Spain.

South Korea 2 Spain 1

The Turks played their best match since the opener against Brazil. Senegal, with the exception of the second half against Uruguay, has been the sensation of the tournament. I thought this QF matchup would have been Japan vs Sweden but both teams have fallen. Fadhiga is back for Senegal and H. Camara has played great soccer in his appearances so far. Sas can be a one-match wrecking crew and they have a sleeping giant up front who is due to wake up. But I believe that the African adventure continues.

Senegal 2 Turkey 1 (OT)
