Unlike the recently popular reality television programs, where contestants are voted off the show, college basketball teams earn their place in the next round.

Such is the case for Kansas, Texas, Syracuse and Marquette, the four schools that have played their way into the Final Four this weekend in New Orleans.

Oddsmakers at Las Vegas Sports Consultants have installed Kansas as a 7/5 future book favorite to capture the title, but Texas is close behind at 9/5. Syracuse is the third choice at 7/2, with Marquette in the long shot role at 9/2.

The Jayhawks opened as a four-point favorite in Saturday?s first contest against Marquette, with the total set at 151. However, the line quickly moved to 4 ?, while the total was bet up to 152.

Texas, the lone No. 1 seed remaining in the tournament, opened as a three-point ?chalk? against Syracuse. The ?over/under? opened at 150 and immediately moved to 151.

The Orangemen advanced by upsetting No. 1 seed Oklahoma in the East Regional Final as a three-point underdog, 63-47. The combined 110 points dipped well ?under? the closing 136-point total.

The Longhorns travel to the New Orleans Superdome thanks to Sunday?s 85-76 victory against Michigan State as a four-point favorite in the South Regional Final. The combined 161 points sailed ?over? the closing 135-point total.

In Saturday?s early contest, Marquette upset No. 1 seeded Kentucky as a seven-point underdog, 83-69. The combined 152 points leaped ?over? the closing 140-point total.

The nightcap saw Kansas nip Arizona as a two-point favorite, 78-75. The combined 153 markers slipped just below the closing 158-point total.
