How is it a guy like Larry Johnson gets suspended by the league for spitting or throwing a drink on a chick but Matt Jones of Jacksonville got caught cutting cocaine up with a credit card and he hasnt been repremanded or even talked about with it, maybe the charges were dropped and I didnt see it but something about this doesnt seem right...Goodell talks about league image and I dont think a player sniffing coke is a good look on the league.....just got to wondering about this, and theres other guys out there to use as expamples that have been suspended Im just using LJ as he was the most recent, Pacman I can understand beings hes been in trouble but to be HONEST, there wasnt even a police report filed in his case.:shrug:

Ok if so this was for nothing and thats satisfactory, I dont follow the Jags too much and it was just a thought that my friends and I were discussing as watching the game. Anyone have a confirmation on the suspension?

Well the point being is Roger was supposed to be hard on players who cant follow the rules, a coke sniffer,smoker or a woman abuser ALL fall into the same category as NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES!

Jones and the Jaguars are still waiting to learn his fate stemming from a violation of the NFL's substance-abuse policy. In late October, a judge accepted Jones into a drug treatment program that could erase his felony charge. Jones is appealing a three-game suspension, and the NFL does not comment on suspensions until after the appeals process is over. Spokesman Greg Aiello said though appeals differ, the league likes to finish them as quickly as possible.

Boy thats a new one, getting a FELONY COCAINE charge erased, you cant be anymore red handed caught then having a plate or dish of cocaine in your hand and chopping it up with a credit card can you, not a suspended sentence from jail...but erased...and PETA has Micheal Vick sitting years in jail for fighting and possibly killing dogs...glad to see the animal cruelty laws in this country are so much more important then the WAR ON DRUGS laws..

I would argue that said "war on drugs" is little more than a war against personal freedom. Animal cruelty is far less "victimless". That said, I've never heard of a felony charged being erased like this either.

In any event, I suspect this thread will get moved eventually...
