I have a question for all you experienced cappers out there with myself being an amateur. How would you handicap an injury to a starting center? I have read that the center position is the most overlooked position in handicapping injuries. This is b/c cadence and rythm between the C and QB is important in an offense. I was leaning towards Wyoming vs. Boise but just read that the starting center is out and the cowboys have 2 freshman in that spot in the depth chart. In your experience, does it make that much difference when a team's starting center is out and not much experience is behind him?

So. Cal
do you know what kind of offense Wyoming runs? Because if they run alot of shotgun there is less room for error on the snap and generally the center will have to block long enough for the qb to get the ball off.

Much like any other offensive set, but in certain Offenses the job of center is more relied on. I would say center is a big concern. I was looking very closely a that wyoming game as well, particularly the under, but did not make a play on it, but did notice the injuries stacked against wyoming.

It's not just about what's "in the number" - it's about what the *joe public* bettor (that looks in the paper on Sat morning and calls his local at 10 minutes before 11:00) "thinks" (or doesn't know) is in the number.... :com:

Sometimes it is more psychological than mathematical...in my humble opinion. :)

edit: BTW, gun to my head, this one is Boise and Over....
