From my experience, most of the time that it found anything was at the tail-end of its scan, doing what it called its 'heuristic' analysis.

When I've used it lately, it doesn't do this final process; it just scans the files, stops, and then tells me it found nothing.

I ask because I suspect that I might have some adware that its not picking up.
It hasn't found anything last many times I've run it. Just free version here, btw.

There's no bleepin question here.
Nice communications skills, aye?

I guess I'm wondering if the heuristic scan is essential for malwaebytes to do its thing, and/or if the free malwarebytes is as useless as it has been, for me, lately.

It was either this program or ccleaner that I first heard about around this site, some 1.6 or 1.8 decades ago.

Malwarebytes was relevant about ten years ago. It is no longer a good tool to use. There are better ones out there.
