DVL,
You have commonly said that SEC has the most championship in foots of the conferences. What time period are you basing this on?
If we were to take from 1936 on, the invent of the AP poll, the SEC has won or shared 15 titles, 20 for the Big 10, 14 for the Big 12, and 9 for the Pac. If we take this from 1950 on, then SEC 15, Big 10 15, Big 12 12, and Pac 9.
Unless I did the math wrong then the Big 10 and SEC would be tied back to 1950.
If we go further past 1936 it gets worse. And if we were to count all time including the 1800's the Ivy would embarrass all of our conferences.
It is also amazing at how many of the titles are split. There is also one year in which a 2 SEC teamswon a share of the title with another team with a non-conference team. The Big 10 also had this happen.
Here is the link as my math may not have been the best.
