What happens if Bama wins in the NC game and it's very close?(Bama by 1 or 2) Would you feel like Bama is the better team and should be the National Champs. I know Bama would be the champs but would you really feel they deserved it? For some reason I feel like Bama needs to win by more than 3 for me to feel like they deserved it.

I am baffled by all of this talk. The system may suck. It does. BUT, this is the playoffs. If it is Bama and LSU and Bama wins, there is no Argument. Bama is the Champ!

Did the Patriots cry when the beat the Giants in the last game of the season and then lost in the Super Bowl? No. NFL teams have gone 2-0 vs an opponent and then lost in the playoffs numerous times. You need to win when it counts.

Alabama may have backed their way into the NC game, but that's not their fault. LSU did their job by winning and left no doubt. Alabama had to have things fall in to place, and they did. Such is life. If hypothetically, there were all 3 loss teams and LSu was undefeated, they would still have to win the playoff game to win the NC. The regular season is the regular season. The playoffs (even if it is a 1 game BS system) are the playoffs. Just win and don't worry about all this "unfair" bs. Life is unfair.

As the kids say, "Don't hate the player (Bama), hate the Game (the BCS)" Bama played their season by the rules and ended up in the NC game. That's what the game is. Win it and you are NC. NO dispute. This type of thing happens in Round Robin tourneys all the time (college baseball for an example).

I have more to say, but just wanted to get that main point out there.

Take your bias out and LSUers, let's hear from you!

Simply put the winner of the title game is the BCS champ.

I said the same to those who supported USC in 2003. Would i have liked to watch LSU and USC play that season? Damn straight, but the system was in palce prior to the start of the season, so the winner of Okie, who did not deserve to be there IMO, and LSU was the rightful champion.

Same thing goes this season. IMO Bama would not deserve to be there over Okie State if Okie St wins this weekend because Okie St would be a conference champ with an otherwise comparable resume to Bama. Not better, but comparable. The conference championship would push them over the top imo. Regardless, if Bama is selected to participate in the title game by the system in place then they will be the rightful champ.

Regardless of who deserves a shot, the system will select 2 teams to play for it all. The winner of that game is the National Champion and will receive the hardware to prove it.

As a fan, I prefer LSU face Bama because I think Bama is the 2nd best team int he nation. As for the matchup with bama, I firmly believe LSU is the deeper and faster team, particularly on defense. They competed and won at Bama with Jefferson still gelling with the offense. Jefferson is now fully intergrated and the offense the past 3 games has hummed. I feel that LSU would win a rematch convincingly on the fast track in the Superdome. Every square and their neighbor will be on Bama. LSU will leave no doubt.

This is a very good point.

That said, it's all about the $$$, which is a shame, and not even so much the $$$, but the guaranteed $$$ (rose bowl), etc.

The system is tons better than is use to be and I have no problem with Bama being crowned if they win. It was more a question for LSU fans because if it was my team I wouldn't want to play a team twice.

For the record, I think Bama wins in the NC game. I think Saban opens up the offense a little more hoping to avoid the long fg attempts. I think his defense was good enough in the first game that it affords him that opportunity.

I would rather see Okie State vs LSU just to see the contrast in styles but no matter what LSU is the only team that deserves to be there at this point.

As much as the system sucks and LSU beating Bama at Bama; LSU pretty much would get a home game in the Dome. They have a faster track, and even though it would be a revenge game for Bama, LSU would have the advantage.

National Title Game

National Title Game

Guys whats the differance if during the NFL regular season the Jets beat the Packers by 3. They meet again in the Superbowl and the Packers win by 1. Who is the NFL Superbowl Champ? The Packers of course. At this point its down to a 1 game season winner take all.

The difference is that in the NFL, there is a playoff. There is a huge difference. You can lose 5-6 games and still have a chance.

I would love to see a playoff, but this is the system. Comparing the NFL to the BCS system is like comparing apples to baseballs.

However I feel the same way Cie does that LSU with Jefferson taking every snap = LSU by 7+ so it shouldn't even be an issue

It's bullshit that bama has such an easy road to the game but If they win it there champs. To the people that think USC was co champs I'n 2003 go fuck your self. I would be a hypocrite if i said Lsu deserves a split. If bama wins I'n our house give it to them. But i will tell you one thing they will have to rip it from our dead bodies. Many of our players are from new Orleans and will play giant I'n that game. I still feel bama is 1 dimensional.
