Question for those currently railing on Obama's "ties" and connections

For those of you spending so much time and effort attempting to discredit and tie Obama to negative and dubious connections, do you feel that George Bush and Dick Cheney have used family connections, business relationships, financial supporters in a completely above board along the way?

I'm just wondering if you guys are admitting that Bush and Cheney have taken advantage of their situations much like anyone democratic, or you really feel that they are above reproach?

I know that many have said they are not pro-Bush in many cases, but a couple here seem to be near-complete supporters and defenders of their activities - and are posting repeatedly about Obama (and Hillary, to a degree) now.

You know my opinion on all politicians Chad--however as I said before I am much more leary of the "professional politician" that come into politics as paupers and leave millionaires (especially attorneys)--than those that aleady are set for life and choose politics in the after thought.

Edwards is only attorney I can think of off hand--that was successful in his profession and got into politics as after thought--and while I don't agree with a lot of his ideas I will say he's not in it for the money.

So, Wayne, specifically, do you think that Bush (especially) and Cheney have used their positions to make money (or ensure that other connections have) at the cost of the taxpayer and repay connections that helped put them there?

I don't care how you feel about all politicians, just these two will do. If you care to answer the question directly, and not with a Hannity/O'Reilly generality. I assume from your response, you are saying that neither are as bad as other non-millionaires who came into office, simply because they had more money...but there is a direct question before you.

I would say at some point in time--Most Certainly
--Would be quite naive to believe there were no political favors paid off.

When you heading to Hawaii?

missed 2nd part of your question.
Personally I think personal greed is much more offensive--than scratching someone elses back.

Sure, offer me a Hawaiian pineapple branch after opening up an opportunity for me to rail on you...:D I will come back to this...

But, I am leaving on a jet plane on Saturday morning...Good Lord (and Buddy) willing and the runway don't freeze. I cannot wait. Between the cold and the diet, I am ready to cut loose - big time.
