First of all let me preface this by saying that I've got a ton of respect for you guys in this Hockey forum and I've been checking out everybody's plays and analysis for quite some time now. My local just started allowing me to play pucks this year so my interest in hockey has grown as of lately.

Although I'm a long time member of MJ's, I've been nothing but a lurker in the Hockey forum. Also let me add that by growing up and residing in South Carolina, my knowledge of hockey is limited to the Cannucks ECHL team here in Columbia (Columbia Inferno).

That being said....my question to you guys is this....the Cannucks seem to me to be the obvoius play tonight. But, that's just what scares me. I played them on saturday night (maybe should have known not to after the long roadtrip) and they looked horrible. I don't think I've seen one person on Cal tonight. I was just wondering if anybody with more hockey knowledge than me had any thoughts as to Calgary's chances tonight.

Thanks for any input and Good luck to all.

I'm not even near the level of other cappers here but here are my thoughts. I thought of playing canucks today, but as you said they did look very tired last game. And looking at canucks record since 96 when playing against teams with win % under .500 to me it's not worth a risk to play them. Most of the time they struggled against opponents with win % under .500. They could easily win tonite, but to me it's too risky to play them at -246 ML or -0.5 for -170.

I agree with you, I think Vancouver is the obvious choice tonight. For the past three or four weeks I've been betting against Calgary, Buffalo, and Washington and picking Boston, Vancouver, and Ottawa. This strategy has worked well up until Buffalo's three game win streak.

With that being said since Vancouver is one of my teams to pick and Calgary is one to pick against so I'm doubling up on Vancouver tonight.

One thing I have noticed this year and maybe it is just me... Never bet against one of the expansion teams (Nashville, Columbus, Min. , etc.) I always seem to get screwed betting against these teams.
