does anyone have access to a database that can retrieve the final scores on chrismas day the last few years?

the reason i ask is that i am an exclusively 'under' player in the nba on totals. haven't bet an nba over in years, and will never bet an nba game over the number.

but it seems that every year, there are shitloads of points scored in these christmas day nba games.

the nba cynic in me says that the refs are generous with the whistle and the nba is looking for high-scoring, entertaining games when theyve got the spotlight all to themselves as the only sport on tv (save for a bowl game here or there the last few years)

again, im going purely on memory. can anyone provide the actual numbers to see if theres something more to it?

Can't give you actual numbers but I believe second game is big over game. Now I know everyone will jump on Miami tomorrow. If my memory is rightChicago was always a christmass game with Jordan and they were always the public favorite. These games were always close and went over. I love LA a tomorrow +4 and over 200. Line keeps going up Kobe as much as people dumping on him will keep this game close and alot of point will be scored.

in 2000 overs went 2-0
2001 over went 1-1
2002 overs were 3-0
2003 overs were 1-1-1...Dallas/Sac total was 215 and they hit 214 and Hou/La was a tie in most places
ALL these results are on Xmas day

My results are a little different, I guess it depends on where the line opened or closed. For references purposes, I used donbest for 2003-2001 and covers for the earlier stuff.

overall according to these numbers, over is 11-1 on christmas since 1999.

2003:

clev 101
orl 113
total: 197 Over (included 20 pts in OT)

dallas 111
Sac 103
Tot: 213 Over

Houst 99
LAL 87
Tot: 184.5 Over

2002:

Det: 99
Orl: 104
Tot: 191 Over

Bos 81
NJ 117
Tot: 193.5 Over

Sac 105
LAL 99
Tot: 199.5 Over

2001:

Knicks/Toronto: Over (total was 181.5, final score was 196)
LAL/Phil Under (tot was 184, scored 170)

2000:

Orl/Ind: Over (192 line, 196 scored)

You guys crack me up. Working like dogs to get worthwhile info for everyone to benefit. And on Christmas, no less. I love it!!!

Been thinking about this Detroit/Indy game for awhile. I'm thinking the officials call it very tight w/ a lot of foul shots and an up tempo style, leading to an over.

Opinions?

Merry Christmas all!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got very lucky w/ the LAL total with the OT but played both games over small for some action after seeing the data from the past 5 years.

Well I got even more fortunate than that......After reading the thread I decided to play the first half of the Det/Ind game over, which was a winner. THEN, since the game fell under the number, I decided to play the LAL game over, BUT not in the conventional way............Well my book has a loophole in their system where in which you can play a parlay with the total in the half and the game on the same game..........Follow me here: I play the first half of the LAL game over the total, which I got at 102, I parlayed it with the LAL game over 202 1/2. At the half it was 110, which made the first half of the parlay good. However, if you were watching the game, the pace slowed consideribly in the last 4 minutes of the half. I had $400 on the par, so I put $500 on the under 100 1/2 in the 2nd half, whichc gauranteed me a minimum of a $100 win on the day. BUT, with overtime it went over the game total AND stayed under the 2nd half total which meant a $1540 win, plus the buck I made on the Det/Ind game for a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS DAY of plus $1640.........Between that and Captain Crunches ornamental delivery, I had a wonderful Christmas and slept very well last night :slomo

From another site I read this am that including yesterday 0vers are 13-1 the last 14 games. That tracks with Saint's post.
