Question on odds

In the 8th race at Scioto Downs 5/23 CB Star won but how much did the horse pay. It lists the odds at 3.10 but i don't understand that. Can someone help me out? :shrug:

It is $3.10 for each $1.00 X 2 - $2.00 wagered + the $2.00 put down = $8.20 will be paid to the winner. HTH

Let me restate what Dan correctly said:

1). $3.10 for each $1 wagered.
2). $2 to win = $3.10 for each $1 bet = $6.20
3). The $2.00 bet you made is returned so you have $6.20 + $2.00 = $8.20 collected at the window if the horse wins.
