Never had really thought about this, but buddy of mine just asked. If someone throws a heave from one end of court and it bounces off floor and goes in, does it count?

Yes it does,as long as there is time on the clock. If it is a last second shot adn the the buzzer goes off before it hits the ground, No basket.
