As painful as it is for me to say this I think the Ravens are a great play tonight. I realize their offense is terrible at this point in the season but I think they hang in there tonight. They had the bye to prepare for this game and I think the Broncos might be looking ahead the Chargers next week. The Balt. defense should be fired up on national TV and I expect a low scoring game.

1 other big reason- nearly everyone is on the Broncos I have seen consensus numbers of close to 80% on the Broncos. Everyone can't be right can they? Game looks too easy to a lot of people.

How hurt is Griese?? Did he practice that much this week?

right now i have to agree w/u chenker! i also lean towards the points in this one! getting 7'-8 points as a home dog on mnf is alot! and true to be denver plays host to the chargers next week! if the ravens stay in this one it will be a low scoring affair

Denver Broncos quarterback Brian Griese practiced for the second straight day Saturday, and appeared primed to play against the Baltimore Raves on Monday night.

Griese was held out of Thursday's workout because of a sprained left ankle. He was injured Wednesday when one of his dogs knocked him down the stairs at his home. He was limping and didn't practice on Thursday, but split time with backup Steve Beuerlein working with the first team in practice Friday.

Coach Mike Shanahan said Griese ``looked a lot better'' Saturday than he did on Friday.

``He should be ready to go,'' Shanahan said.

If Griese can't play, he would be replaced by Beuerlein.

Noting that Griese had 48 more hours to recover before Monday's game, Shanahan said, ``I think that's going to help him, but he looks good right now. He could have played today.''

This sounds exactly like the argument I heard when I was getting punched around in the Bengals thread for saying that TB was going to wipe them out.

Getting 7 points at home as a MNF dog is not a lot if your team deserves it. They have scored 7 points in two games. At times, they have looked absurd on defense. Buerlein is a more than capable backup if he has to go.

I hear yah Ace, it was painful for me to take the Ravens tonight. I think they have more heart and a better coach than the Bengals. Also think the Bye week will help them. Also there was not a look ahead factor for TBAY like their could be for the Broncos tonight.

I could be dead wrong on this one but I will take my chances going against the majority on Monday night.

betting the ravens tonight is like betting the bengals yesterday. I'm on Denver so I am not going to say good luck. If you win, congrats. It's a gutsy call!

This is my add on to this post and yes I am a big Denver fan but one thing is true, good teams find ways to win, bad teams find ways to lose as nolan dalla would say dont bet on a bad qb and baltimore does not have a good one. 7 points at home is alot but for the 4th stright game on monday we have a home dog only 1-2 so far and that win was Tampa should they have been a dog anyway. No chance here Denver wins comfortably and no look ahead to San Diego that game is at home Broncs will be 6 or 7 point favorites there as well

I agree giving up 7 is not a lot of points for an obviously better team. I don't see to much of a problem with the Broncs covering seven. I like the -3 1/2 for Broncs in 1st half.
Also thinking about parlay Broncs -7 w/ under 35 1/2

ravens are +9 at my book now, waiting til they are +10 and i will put 2 units on them

plus i always bet the second half before it starts, because it always presents a middling opportunity

yeah, putting money on the ravens is hard to swallow, but this is the right play..

tell that to Miami, New England, the Rams, and New Orleans..
all 4 of them beat by inferior teams. i dont think this is a coincidence.. the 4th week is a good week for let downs.. teams that have been playing well seem to drop a step or two.. like i said in another thread.... its hard to get up for every game every week..

Denver plays SD next week, they will probably be looking ahead.
Denver has given %110 for 3 weeks.. its time for a bit of a let down..
while Ravens are huge home dogs in a game they have had almost two weeks to prepare for..

not to mention that Brian is not a %100..
i like the Ravens
