All I am saying is the guy is a .500 pitcher, 38 years old, 8-8 this year with an ERA close to 5.00........someone was dumb enough to trade for him, then give him a contract til he will be 41 and that team was Toronto.....

Where it is real F ing COLD
He didn't pitch that bad today, catcher gets a passed ball get by him to let runners advance to 2nd and third, next ball was a routine dp ball then 3 score, maybe the hitter tries something different but that passed ball cost em huge.

Dickey could of gave up 1 today and they woulda still lost but I do agree he's average with a great year and 2 solid years,

I agree with this, you don't trade for a 38 y/o pitcher especially a knuckled cause they vary so much and then give him a boatload. They could of had for Kyle Lohse for no trade and a lot less and . Younger pitcher to boot. When people bitch about player salaries in any sport they must first realize that these teams are the ones who do it to themselves,

I love Mauer but 25 mil for a guy who can't hit homeruns, Twinks had to sign the hometown kid but what a bad contract

Actually, knuckleballers go much longer than regular pitchers who build up wear and tear on their arms, etc. That is why knucklers can go further into games, from a pitch count perspective.

Btw...Dickey has had an era of about 2 and a bit in 7 of his last 12 games. And he has rested the bulllpen many times.

Yeah I know they last longer but their stats vary a lot from year to year is what I meant. Dickey very good to solid for a few years now. I just wouldn't trade for the guy. It is a luxury to rest pen.

And they are only paying him 5 mill this year, then they are going to pay him 12 mill the next 2 years which is in line with what Dan Haren, Ted Lilly, Wandy Rodriguez, just to name a few are getting, so I don't think it's that bad.

On December 16, 2012, the Mets agreed to trade Dickey to the Toronto Blue Jays (along with Josh Thole and Mike Nickeas) in exchange for Travis d'Arnaud, John Buck, Noah Syndergaard and Wuilmer Becerra, contingent on his agreeing to a contract extension with the Blue Jays.[34] The two sides agreed on December 17 to a two-year, $25-million extension with a club option for a third year in 2016 at $12 million

The contract is more worse then........25 million left for a 3rd or 4 th starter at best who will be in his 40s pitching in the AL where more than half the parks are band boxes
