Have any of you used it? I used last year but the performance was so bad I would usually just give up after a while. Low and behold this year they are trying to charge for this service, what joke. Would any of you pay to use the RaceCast service?

That's what I was about to ask. Is there anywhere else I can listen to the race, or a driver's radio??? They should only ask for money if it works.

I just saw a commercial in regards to the satellite radio where you can hear what's going on. Last year TNT and TNN had a quasi racecast where you could listen to the radio traffic. As it stands today with NBC running the show there is not a place that I know of that will run the radio traffic.
Oh forgot to add I hate the Home Depot car....ching.

Racecast issues

Racecast issues

Well, judging from last weeks' race, they got the kinks and stuff out. I used it, had no problems...aside from the occasional lag, *blamed on my ISP, and not the race cast servers*.

The mic worked fine...athough there was a point in time for about a minute that two voices were interlapped. But aside from that, a very smooth ride.

I can see where the 5 dollar a charge comes from though...the software is better designed, more compatible with OS's and they've even eliminated a few banner ads outta the racecast programs.

IT's free for 14 days..try it, see it for yourself. THe RealONE package is pretty interesting, since it has multimedia banks for a lot of stuff.

CHeck it out, let me konw if anybody has problems with the recent races....

I havent tried racecast yet, but you can watch the races on TV. Racecast seems best for people that only want to listen to their favorite driver, or are at work and cant watch TV but have a computer.
Since it only costs about a dollar a race, why not?

Well worth the dough

Well worth the dough

You can't actually watch the races on Race Cast but there are TONS of cool features. Exclusive video highlights, up-to-the-minute race status and a lap by lap leaderboard. Best of all there is IN CAR AUDIO! Very cool and well worth the $5/month or $30/year.
