Al David has been dead 3 years! When is the league going to let up. I am an NFL fan for 50 + years and I have seen the calls go against the Raiders for the past 30. I think enough is enough. Tonight's Cowboy game, the announcers agreed with John Madden that a flag could actually be thrown on almost every down in the NFL. Why is it that they choose to throw the flags on the Raiders over and over. It was no fun watching the Raider/ Tampa game today as the Raiders went up and down the field at will, like 680 yards and the refs threw a flag every time the Raiders were getting ready to score. They did everything they could to make sure Tampa Bay would come out with a win. What I saw is a terrible Tampa Bay team and a Raider team that if things were equal would of scored 60 points. If you watched this game you would come with the same conclusion I have . They don't want the Raiders to win, and in doing so it just kills the game for viewers. My god 23 penalties for 200 yards, LOL just laughable. It's pretty obvious when Jack Del Rio's team's in Jacksonville were the LEAST penalized team in the entire league, and we know coaches control there players. So the refs threw another illegal procedure penalty when the Raiders were going in to score and they called it on the center. Replay showed not one offense lineman moved, and the announcer says, well the ref's are just looking to throw flags now, no one moved! lol
Im almost done watching football and basketball as the league controls to much of what teams they want to win. If you read the book from the NBA ref that got busted, you would realize that ref's have way too much control of who win's the games or if there high or low scoring. Makes me think twice when I bet 5 dimes on a game. I don't think college is nearly controlled. I've been on the road for my snow pre season inspections for the last 5 weeks and got back last night and put a nice wager in the on Raiders because I know Tampa is trash and the Raiders have been good on the road. After watching the game I realized the control we all think we have in handicapping might be less than we think at times.
OK got it off my chest, whew that was longer than I thought.

I have been around a while myself and agree that the NFL is a joke. I can barely watch anymore. No one but the NFL itself to blame. They created this fiasco. The game is mere semblance of what it was in the 70's. They created a pass happy penalty ridden mess that is only going to get worse. Look at the QBs starting in this league. There is a reason the Patriots dominate. So sick of players whining for penalties on every play. It is sad when teams play for penalties. I can go on and on, but the NFL is now a substandard product. Sadly, I don't think it can be fixed because the NFL will never admit that they screwed up and God forbid we change the way the games are officiated. Hopefully, ratings will continue to decline and hurt the billions in business, so they are forced to do something.

The calls went both ways. and there was missed ones. And actually the biggest call of the game enabled the raiders to get the win. I agree there is a lot of penalties but I think the refs are trying to send a message to the players in which they should given all their cocky attitudes. I do agree it's hard to watch. If the players would just tone down their attitudes I think we would see a different outcome.

I couldn't agree with you more Arrow. For me, the NFL is a joke and getting harder and harder to watch, let alone try and handicap. Same with the NBA. I rarely bet either league.....strictly college for me.

What happened to baseball is now happening to football. They wanted more runs so they juiced the ball and allowed the players to juice, thinking more runs would draw more fans. Football they took the man to man coverage pretty much away from the game and now call every touch foul against a DB. You can't hit a QB anymore, and you can't hit high anymore! Jack Tatum is rolling over in his grave laughing. It's pretty much an offensive showing of flag football. Producing higher scores and has watered the product down. Remember when the chiefs and raiders played and the Steelers and Raiders played in the 70's? Those teams hated each other and there was a fight every game they played for years. the rivalry's are gone, the defenses are gone and the teaching is all new, spread them out and pass, pass, pass. Yes we have far more scoring, but the games aren't even close to excitement we had for 40 years prior. Pro football was the game I couldn't get enough of, now I could care less unless I wager on one side or another. And I am not even in to that as much as I used too. For 15 years every Sunday I displayed my football picks on this site with write ups. Not enough interest in the sport for me to do it now. I will stick to baseball where I have been solid year after year.

Raiders

Raiders

I have been a lifelong Raiders fan and sometimes this has to do with reputation. It just seems like this crew is looking harder for penalties, this same crew the week before had called a lot of penalties as well. That being said, Raiders team just can't get passed that reputation and maybe they look harder for the penalties.

If we all sat down, watched the film of a game at all angles the truth is we could find many penalties that are committed. It certainly made the game less fun to watch, even though the Raiders pulled it out at the end.:0074

They have taken the fun out of NFL football. It is getting hard to watch and even harder to cap. I had a bad day yesterday capping 1-5, and told 1 of my guys he might not be hearing from me on Sundays. I used to like watching the NFL. Now I hardly watch it at all. Do I think it is fixed? I can't answer that. Do I think any sport CAN be fixed, Yes I do. I have been doing this for 50 years. Have I heard of games being fixed? Hell yeah. Was it beer talk, who knows. Did I check the outcome of the games, yes I did. I don't believe the ref that got caught was the only ref, umpire or Nfl guy doing that. He just got caught.

You are absolutely correct, he just got caught. But from what he confessed, the refs were all in on getting the matchups that made the NBA the most money. And if they didn't like a certain coach it was going to be a lot of fouls and an easy over. They had the info and he just played off it. They waited till a certain ref had a certain team and they unloaded on the totals or the other team. I am sure this is what was happening when Al Davis won his anti-trust lawsuit against the league and got hundreds of millions of dollars. I bet he didn't think at the time it would last far past his death. It's obvious when they have a coach now that lead the league in the fewest penalties when he was at Jacksonville. In road games this year the Raiders lead the NFL with 86 penalties, and the 2nd place team is Cleveland with 40. Like I said it's a joke!

what about the raider game tonight as raiders had 10 1st downs by penalties for pass interference or defensive holding and a lot of them were on 3rd down.

think raiders were called for one defense holding or pass interference.
