When the 13-2 University of Hawaii men?s basketball team hits the court against U.C. Riverside Thursday night in California, the Rainbow Warriors could be without two of its three leading scorers.

Aaron Valdes is listed as day-to-day with a right toe injury, and is very unlikely to suit up against the Highlanders.

Senior point guard Roderick Bobbitt failed to make the trip to the Inland Empire, stemming from what the Star Advertiser?s Brian McInnis first reported as academic issues.

At this point, it is unclear if Bobbitt will join the team in California.

Hawaii is 5-1 against the Highlanders since joining the Big West Conference.

Update:

Sources: ?Bows PG Bobbitt in good academic standing, expected to be available vs UC-Riverside

Despite having missed two days of practice time while tending to what sources call academic obligations, University of Hawaii Point Guard Roderick Bobbitt will be available when the Rainbow Warriors face UC-Riverside on Thursday evening.

KHON2 has learned through sources close to the program that Bobbitt made plans to travel Wednesday in good academic standing and is expected to play. However, it is currently unknown if the two time Big West Conference player of the week will start against the Highlanders.

Either way, one would imagine that having the reigning BWC Defensive Player of the Year suiting up for the ?Bows serves large since the team?s leading scorer Aaron Valdes is doubtful with a right toe injury.
