RANGERS/ATHLETICS Over 8.5 ?120 - While I realize that Zito is one of the best pitchers in the game, this still looks like a low total to me for a game involving Colby Lewis. Lewis was supposed to be the next big phenom, but the pitching-strapped Rangers probably rushed him through the minor league system, as he looked totally lost at times in the Majors last year. While he somehow ended up with a winning record at 10-9, that was more of a by-product of the Texas offense, as Lewis had a terrible 7.30 ERA and 1.83 ratio overall, and we got lit up on the road where opposing batters hit .340 off of him! Unless he has suddenly reached his potential during the off season, Oakland may come close to going Over this total all by themselves. Yes Zito is 11-0 lifetime vs. Texas, but the Rangers may only need to score 2 or 3 runs to ensure this Over, which certainly seems doable. Finally, neither bullpen looks impressive to me, which is another contributing factor.
