TEXAS RANGERS -120 ? We selected the Rangers in this matchup last night and got rained out. Tonight, Affelt is still slated to go for the Royals, while the Rangers get an upgrade in the starting pitching department with Park. The Royals have lost 3 in a row and 4 out of 5, and they are now a dismal 16-29 overall this season. Stamina has been Affeldt?s problem, as he has yet to go more than 5.2 innings in any of his starts, which means that we will most likely see an early appearance by the Royals bullpen. The Kansas City pen has a poor ERA of 5.72 this season, along with an unimpressive WHIP of 1.59. Also, KC is just 1-3 in Affeltd?s 4 starts. Park was a major off-season signee by the Rangers, but he injured himself in his first start this season. He has always had nasty stuff, and the fact that the Royals have never seen him is a major plus, especially in Kansas City?s current offensive funk. The Royals have a dismal team batting average of .237 over the last 10 games, while as a point of comparison, Texas is hitting .270 over that same span.
